Turfgrass education, research and outreach. #1 Turf Program Worldwide. The sun never sets on the Penn State Turf Program.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Bloom Golf Partners Team is so proud to officially announce the recipients of our inaugural Turfgrass Management Scholarship:

🥇 Taylor Posner | @ruturfcenter
🥈 Dionicio Azuara Jr. | @tamu #turfmanagement
🥉 Gavin Wilson | @pennstateturf @psu2yearturf

Three individuals. Three very different paths into the game. One shared commitment to the future of this industry.

From a former collegiate athlete who found her path in turf, to a student who shifted from computer science after discovering the work firsthand, to a caddie now pursuing golf course construction and design: this is what the next generation of talent actually looks like and this is exactly why we built this opportunity.

We’re incredibly proud to support Taylor, Dio, and Gavin as they continue to build their careers, and even more excited to watch what comes next.

Visited with @brianedlis who headed back to Lone Pine CC to work in a leadership role with Brian Leichliter. Fascinating visit to a course who had a many of their holes settle due to longwall mining about 700-900 feet below the surface. Apparently the area is one of the few coal mining areas left in PA. taken in Lone Pine Country Club by @pennstateturf

We are hosting a turfgrass job fair from 10AM to 2PM on Thursday, October 14th at the Hetzel Union Building. If you’re looking for a position in the turfgrass industry you can register to attend for free. We will have employers from all aspects of the turfgrass industry recruiting new hires as well as professionals to conduct mock interviews and resume reviews. Various industry professionals will also be giving short presentations and a panel discussion on being successful in the industry. On top of that we will be doing drawings throughout the event to give away prizes and gift cards. Be sure to sign up (link in bio) today. If you’re in town to recruit consider signing up for the Watschke Scholarship Golf Tournament on Wednesday, October 13th. All proceeds support the Watschke Award of Excellence to be presented to a top turfgrass student for the first time in 2022. by @pennstateturf
