I shared this on Friday on my other accounts and wanted to share here for Penny’s followers. I am so heartbroken.

Today I had to say goodbye to Penny Lane, my little pickle pug.

Penny wandered into my brother’s backyard during a Mother’s Day party, and I adopted her after no one claimed her. She was my best friend for more than 17 years.

She was a crazy, curious girl when she was young, always barking out the window at people, squirrels or even plastic bags. She was spoiled rotten with all the toys, and she never lost her appetite for treats or people food. She mellowed out a lot as she got older, but still had energy to chase Buddy around the yard when we first moved to Maywood. She became a grumpy old lady, but still loved to snuggle.

Eighteen is really old for a dog. The vets have always been surprised at how well she was doing, even after she became blind. But recently she had been struggling and declined quickly. It was her time to cross the rainbow bridge.

She’s been my bestie and with me through all the good and bad times. It is amazing how dogs know when you need them, how she’d snuggle up with me when I was sick or sad. And now I’m looking at her empty bed and I miss those snuggles so much. 💔 by @pennylanepug
