February 6, 2021 was a wild and life changing day. Never in the history of all my riding have I nor the other people there that day experienced such a crazy experience. Lessons were learned, lives were saved and we all returned to our families. Ultimately by gods grace we lived through that. #avalanche Be avvy aware this season and take the time to get avvy certified. by @penrosebros

Here’s a little more of the story. Friday night we located the bull. Got some film & knew he was the one to shoot. He was perfectly in the middle of two different watering holes. Staurday morning we decided to go to the lower one as he was walking down to some trees to bed closer to the lower pond. We had 2 people sit on the ridge. The bull didn’t go to water Saturday morning so we knew he had to go that night. We had a decide which water to go to. We all decided the upper water had cows there that morning so the bull would probably go there even tho he was closer to the lower pond. After waiting from 3pm until 6:30 trying to locate the bull. We finally turned him up. 6:30 exactly where we thought he was. We watched cows, then spikes come out & walk up towards the water. We thought it was perfect. The bull ended up staying in the same spot until 8pm he maybe moved 50 yards. While the cows & spikes had already watered & moved almost back down to where the bull was. (Second video) at this point we were all worried thinking the bull wasn’t gonna get water that night or if he was it was gonna be too dark to shoot. All of the sudden (third video) the bull ran from 250 yards away to maybe 80. He had a decision to make. Go up to the pond or go down & follow his cows. He immediately turned up & started walking straight up out of the spotters view straight into the pond. (Fourth video) bull come into the ponds waters for 2-3 minutes. The bull finally turn & my pops make the perfect shot at 40 yards. He didn’t go 100 yards after the shot (I know it looks back. But he was left of where the video was taken so he hit both lungs & heart) the rest of the videos some it up! Our pops walking up to his bull. Some of the guys we rounded up to help us pack out! & then the pack out!
