Peace of Mind is a record I wrote in the higher times and lowest depths of this year. The band and I recorded it in the same room we recorded North East Bound in. Even though we were told repeatedly to leave; we kept pushing. That’s what this record reflected to me; perseverance. This year I’ve been impressed, depressed, quick to anger, and quick to love. However, I’ve never felt more blessed to experience each beating this year has brought. I remember praying to the Lord to give me my work ethic back, and this record proved to take everything I have and make me appreciate it.

This year, from each 3 AM session, to each fight, each late night square trip, to being on the other end of blue lights, I’ve never been more grateful and more free to owe nothing to nobody, and try my best to put God as my first priority. And as I continue to make mistakes, I grow and let the wounds of failure turn into scars I will one day call beautiful.

Life is fleeting, and laughs will fade, your brothers, lovers, family, and all will one day be a memory you yearn for, and that’s what makes today precious. And as I started to realize this I finally came to understand that each one of these songs reflects who I was this last year, what I persevered though, and who I became. Now it’s yours. So as I said, what a year its been and what a year it was, God thank you for my brothers, our lovers, our families, and this home, and everything good we will ever touch. by @pepperdavis
