🎉🎉Happy 92nd birthday to my Mum!! 🎉🎉

Today, Mum has reached the grand old age of 92. Still smiling, despite a very lengthy and unexpected stay in hospital. She’s an absolute trooper.

I’m so in awe of the incredibly caring NHS staff who have looked after her with such kindness over the past couple of months.

Her own mother died at the age of 54 - so I know what a huge blessing it is to still have Mum with us.

Very fittingly, we’ve just entered the month of Iyar in the Hebrew calendar. Iyar is the Jewish month of healing. We’re so grateful to see Mum bouncing back and can’t wait to see her back home. 🌸

I turned 55 yesterday - what a privilege it is to grow older.

I’m deeply grateful to be happier, healthier and wiser at 55 than I was at 45, 35 or 25.

Birthdays are a good time to reassess our mission in life. Having a strong sense of purpose is vital for our wellbeing: I’m blessed to wake up with that purpose every day.

Getting older and becoming a grandma has made me even more committed to my mission: to empower others to reclaim their physical, mental and emotional health.

Grateful for my family, my faith, my community, my friends, my health. Grateful for being alive today. 🌸

Whilst in LA, I had the privilege of volunteering at @obklosangeles. It’s honestly difficult to put into words how incredible this experience was. ❤️

Our Big Kitchen is a community-run, non-denominational kitchen that prepares meals for those in need throughout LA.

Week in, week out, they provide nutritious, kosher meals for the immense number of people in LA who are homeless or struggling for food.

I was one of 60 volunteers who prepared 600 restaurant-quality meals - under guidance from an expert chef.

It was impossible not to feel totally uplifted by the joyful vibe, the fab 80s soundtrack - and the care, intention and love that OBK pours into the food.

It’s a shining example of empowering people to make a positive impact - providing nourishment, human connection and kindness that have a ripple effect on making the world a better place. 💫

Making sandcastles with my granddaughter reminded me that children are our greatest teachers.❤️

They don’t rush, they don’t overthink, they’re not chasing perfection, they don’t worry about what comes next. They’re simply in the moment.

Watching her play, fully absorbed, was a beautiful lesson in presence. And cuddling her new baby sister was a lesson in profound awe and gratitude for a new life.

By watching children, we can (re)learn how to find magic in the small things, how to slow down - and how to live our life in the now.

Now that I’m back home in chilly Manchester (5000 miles from where my granddaughters live in Los Angeles), I’m grateful for so many joyful memories to cherish until I get to see them again. ❤️❤️

Today is Tu Bishvat, the Jewish new year for trees.🌳

I love that we have a festival for trees - and the beautiful, meaningful symbolism of this day.

Even though we are still in deepest winter, there’s an invisible shift happening underground. Tu Bishvat marks the time when sap starts to rise in the trees.

We can’t see it, but it’s a transition towards the hope and new growth of spring.

In Jewish teachings, human beings and trees are strongly linked.

Just like trees, we need strong roots to thrive (our values, family, faith, support network).

We grow very, very slowly: at times, we look dormant…but growth can be happening out of sight.

Our purpose is to bear fruit - through our good deeds, our creativity and our own unique contribution to the world.

We celebrate today by eating different types of fruit with intention and gratitude - and reflecting on our own personal growth.

How can you best nurture your roots? May we all keep growing and reaching for the light! 🌳

In California to visit our grandchildren, we took the opportunity to visit the Joshua Tree National Park.🌵

The Joshua tree (not technically a tree, but a type of yucca) grows incredibly slowly.

That feels very aligned with the new Jewish month of Shevat.

Each month of the Jewish calendar carries its own spiritual energy - inviting us to focus on a different opportunity for growth.

Shevat brings a shift towards renewal. (For us, it was a rather dramatic shift…we were at the epicentre of a 4.9 magnitude earthquake!).

In Shevat, the trees begin to stir beneath the surface. On the outside, everything still looks bare. But there’s an invisible shift that starts to happen underground as roots begin drawing water again. Life is preparing to re-emerge.

Growth doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes it’s happening below ground - in the subtle, unseen changes.

Like the Joshua tree grows slowly and steadily in its own time, so we’re invited to honour the growth that’s not yet visible.

It’s a lesson for us to trust what’s unfolding rather than getting frustrated with our perceived lack of progress. Remember…you don’t have to be in full bloom to be growing. 🌱

It’s a big milestone for me this week as I realise it’s been 10 years since I launched Peppermint Wellness!🌟

My previous career as a high-flying PR boss seems like a lifetime ago.

I worked in PR for 22 years and won a stack of awards. I was outwardly successful and looked like I had it all. Inwardly, I was struggling with the stress of juggling a busy consultancy with three kids (and an elderly Dad who was very ill).

When Dad passed away, I knew in my heart it was time to walk away from PR: the only career I’d ever known. Everyone thought I was crazy to leave the agency I’d founded - but I trusted my gut.

I’d always been interested in mind/body health – something which didn’t gel with my job (which included promoting junk foods 🍪).

I fell in love with health coaching and also trained in EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), which had helped me so much after losing Dad. It’s something I integrate into my work with clients: we all have emotional blocks which are stopping us from moving forward.

Empowering people to thrive is what lights me up and it’s been a privilege to have a “second-act” career that aligns with my values.

Following my heart to become a functional medicine health coach has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve never once looked back.

Thank you to every single person who has supported me along the way – and especially to my family. ❤

For many months, I’ve been quietly teaching Jewish spirituality behind the scenes.

I’ve been sharing Jewish wisdom to help women find meaning in their struggles - and connect to their inner light. It’s ancient wisdom that is more relevant today than ever.💫

Last night was the final night of Chanukah, when we lit all eight candles. 🕎

The final day is called Zot Chanukah and it’s a day of immense spiritual power. It signifies wholeness and transcendence, as the full light is revealed.

It comes precisely at the darkest time of the year - when the nights are longest and the light feels farthest away. The darker it is, the brighter a light shines.

Zot Chanukah feels like the perfect moment to bring my own light forward more confidently and more courageously.

From today, I’m evolving my Instagram feed to reflect what I truly want to share with the world: a blend of ancient Jewish wisdom and modern wellness.

Because real wellness isn’t just about what we eat or what workouts we do.

It’s about remembering that we are souls with a unique purpose in life.

It’s not about radiance-boosting serums - it’s about being lit from within.

The light of the Chanukah candles brings clarity. It pierces through the darkness and translates pain into purpose. It illuminates the world. It symbolises the spread of warmth and kindness.

And that’s my mission too.

If you’re craving some spirituality amidst all the messiness and stress of life, you’re in the right place.

Putting my menorah on display is more than a Chanukah ritual: it’s a quiet declaration that we will not allow terror and hatred to define our story.🕎

My husband got me this beautiful menorah for our 32nd wedding anniversary last week. To me, it looks like a big smile beaming out at passers-by on the street.

Yesterday’s atrocity at Bondi Beach has been devastating and heartbreaking for us. Sadly, the gunning down of families celebrating Chanukah did not come as a shock. It was only recently that a murderous attack took place at a synagogue where we live in Manchester - on Yom Kippur, our holiest day.

Our response to darkness is this: to increase light.🕯️

Each night of the 8 days of Chanukah, we add another candle to the menorah - gradually building more and more light. That is how we combat darkness.

This Wednesday evening, I will be holding a Lit From Within ladies circle to harness the powerful energy of Chanukah. I’ll be blending profound kabbalistic insights with modern wellness to help you tap into your inner light. If you’re interested in joining me, drop me a message and I’ll send you more details.

May we all be blessed with spreading more light in the world. 💫
