Happy Friday everyone!! The time has come for our final senior spotlight for the class of 2026! Last but not least, representing the boys, we’ve got Nate Folkerts from right here in Malibu, CA.

Nate is a sustainability major with an entrepreneurship minor, and this is what he has to say about the SUST program:

“What I appreciate most about the SUST program is the community we’ve built around our shared love for the environment. Whether it was studying local conservation efforts during the Buenos Aires summer program or growing our own vegetables in the garden, the deep conversations I’ve had and the friendships I made have have pushed me to think more critically about the systems that shape our planet. Thank you Pepp SUST!
Excited to use my sustainability perspective and experiences in the world of business consulting!”

Fun fact: his favorite food is fish tacos 🐠🤙

Biggg congrats Nate! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. by @peppsustainability

“Hi guys! My name is Liko Abrigo, and I am from Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi! I’ll be graduating with my BA in Sustainability and a minor in Sociology.

Being born and raised in Hawai’i, my connection to the land and ocean has always been a huge part of who I am and has showed me how important it is to protect and care for the environment! Being a part of Pepperdine’s SUST program has given me the tools to learn how environmental conservation and activism connect, and how we can make a difference, whether it’s through protecting our ecosystems or speaking up for our communties. I am so grateful for the program, professors, and amazing people that have made my time at Pepperdine so so special!”

Next up for senior spotlight we have Amanda Wong from Tustin, California!

“Hiii guyss my name is Amanda and I am a sustainability major with an art minor!
When I first started at Pepperdine, I was on a completely different academic path before switching to sustainability, and honestly looking back, it turned out to be the best decision I could’ve made. I’ve always had a deep passion for the environment, and this program has given me the opportunity to explore that passion in a meaningful way while learning how to make a real impact. Over the past three years I’ve met incredible people, created great memories, and grown so much. Moving forward, I’m excited to carry everything I’ve learned into my next chapter!

Fun fact: At pepp, I am also apart of FRN and the swim and dive team 😁” by @peppsustainability

Happy Friday everyone! Today we have another alumni spotlight 🥁🥁🥁🥁: Skylar Enge!

“Hello! I graduated from Pepperdine in 2024 with a degree in sustainability and a minor in social entrepreneurship.

After graduating, I completed my Masters of Advanced Studies in Climate Science and Policy from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. I then interned with SWCA Environmental Consultants on the Climate Resilience team, supporting state mitigation plans and large-scale water infrastructure projects.

I am now living in Boulder, CO, and working as the Policy Manager at the Colorado Forum–an organization that advances solutions for various public policy challenges facing the State of Colorado.

My advice is that sustainability is incredibly broad, with so many different ways to contribute—so explore widely at first, then focus in on the few areas that genuinely excite you and go all in.” by @peppsustainability

Hi! My name is Mason Turner and I am a sustainability and art double major here at Pepperdine!
I became a sustainability major because I am passionate about environmental conservation. Growing up in a rural Colorado mountain town, I witnessed both the beauty and fragility of natural ecosystems, which fuels my desire to combine environmental responsibility with community-centered solutions.
