Looking through the prototype singer dials you might get caught up in a sentiment of what watch designs could have been. But sometimes it is good to look at what actually became reality. This must be one of the wildest designs out there. The UG Exotic chronograph, equal parts fun and serious. An icon! by @perceptions.of.time
Back to one of my favourite watches recently. It comes in many shapes and executions, which all share one characteristic: their beauty. This rose gold triple calendar comes in perfect condition and has a nice 35,5mm case. The watch wears bigger because of its teardrop lugs. This is mid century watch design at its peak. This one has found a new owner, but we have a wide variety of calendars in stock. by @perceptions.of.time
A very thin slice of watch perfection. by @perceptions.of.time
I first saw this watch a little over a year ago, needless to say I was blown away. At the time unfortunately I could not get my hands on it. Fast forward a year and the seller, which I now call a friend, reached out to me that he wanted to let it go. Thank you again for thinking of me! This Longines was delivered to Portugal in 1945. At the time imported watches would be hallmarked in Portugal. Rather strangely they would put this punção on the front of the watch. On this particular watch it is visible on the top left lug. To some it might look like damage, but when you know what you are looking for it makes the watch all the more special. To add to all this the watch has remained unworn since 1945. It has a beautiful case design with a deep glossy silvered dial. The military style design is just extraordinary! I leave you now to wonder who might have ordered something like this in the mid 1940’s. by @perceptions.of.time
I love to find beautiful designs from unexpected brands. This 33mm NOS Consul is a perfect example. A black and grey two tone radium dial. A cool burn mark to show that we are dealing with vintage after all. Housed in a gorgeous rounded case with lugs that creep all the way up to the crystal. Retaining all the original satin finish. Comes on its original strap with the period correct buckle. by @perceptions.of.time
Let’s look at something more modern today. This full set yellow gold AP with deep black glossy dial was designed around the turn of the century. It has super elegant rounded lines and at 39mm with a short lug to lug it wears like a dream. Try to come up with another chronograph from the big brands that competes in this price category. I truly think this is a timeless design and an icon of its time. Two registers, no date, excellent font and design. It looks good now and it will look even better in 50 years. Who doesn’t like this watch and why? by @perceptions.of.time
Time telling objects part III, the suitcase Earlier this year we sold this exceptional object designed by surrealist artist Fabio de Sanctis. A yellow gold suitcase that reveals a mechanical wristwatch when you press the handle. Produced in only 10 pieces, it is something you will likely only see once. If you have a time telling object I have never seen before, please reach out! by @perceptions.of.time
Let’s continue to look at time telling objects. This Baume & Mercier car watch passed through our hands last year. Its case is made in Switzerland. The watch can be worn as a pin or, when attached to its trailer, as a wristwatch. An absolute marvel. If you happen to have a time telling object I did not know existed, please reach out! by @perceptions.of.time
