The soundtrack to my novel ”Tre varv motsols” is out on vinyl, and already almost sold out! Composed by Mat McNerney (Hexvessel, Grave Pleasures, Dødheimsgard, etc), it also features Peter Bjärgö (Arcana) and Karin Park - and some spoken word and whispers by yours truly. Visited the (tiny) Leonora Carrington exhibition at the Freud Museum in London yesterday morning, together with uncanny cowboy and good friend Darcy Sullivan. Also a great afternoon at Darcy’s house where I got to see his impressive collection of decadent and pop culture paraphernalia. And the peacock guest bathroom! taken in Freud Museum London by @perfaxneld

Thanks for this year, Jämtland. Great to both revisit favourite spots and people and to discover some mysterious new places and make new connections. Not to mention the always excellent food and fika. I also got many lovely reactions from folks who had read my debut novel, set in Jämtland, and was interviewed by three local newspapers. Last but not least, I’ve done quite a bit of research for my next novel about folklorist Edda Erlenstam and her continuing adventures in the region… taken in Jämtland by @perfaxneld

A joy to read from my novel to a packed house at Mus-Olles Museum the other night, where a couple of chapters are set. The grotesque wooden face in the fourth image, which has fascinated me since childhood, has also been woven into the story. Mus-Olle (1874-1955) himself appears as one of the characters in the novel, and as my grandfather came from the village where he built his peculiar collection (encompassing more than 150 000 items of naturalia, buttons, stamps, coins, weapons, matchboxes, etc.), I grew up with tales about this deeply eccentric figure and have drawn on them in my writing. Since the real-life Mus-Olle owned mysterious instructions for stemming blood by magical means, I asked myself if he might not also have known a thing or two about a certain lost folk grimoire (”svartkonstbok”)… taken in Mus-Olles museum by @perfaxneld

In the middle of today’s sudden thunderstorm in Stockholm, Carl Michael von Hausswolff gifted me this tarot deck, which once belonged to Freddie Wadling (1951–2016). Note the cut-up Cortex logo (the legendary post-punk band that Freddie fronted) on the box. An extraordinary artifact. by @perfaxneld

Final Rome look - I’m calling it ”doom dad”, with a corduroy Paul Chain cap and a matching @violamilano Italian doom purple cashmere tie. Felt appropriate for a day of digging for doom and prog in the crates of local record stores, visiting a shooting location from Argento’s ”Inferno” (1980) and, of course, stopping by the legendary Profondo Rosso store and its basement museum. taken in Roma, Italia by @perfaxneld
