We are deeply honoured and excited to share that Perfect Goodbye has been selected to Doc Camp Spring 2026, hosted by @oregonmedialab in partnership with Portland Panorama Film Festival (one of only 25 filmmakers invited).

Three days of screenings, mentorship, editing masterclasses, and community with people who speak the same language we do: documentary.

The strange part of my Perfect Goodbye journey — I thought I would be searching for something familiar, something comforting 🎥

But instead, I keep finding places that feel completely foreign… and somehow still welcoming ☺️

The South of Texas and the Gulf of Mexico look like somewhere I’ve only seen in films — like I’ve somehow crossed into another country, somewhere in Central America. The air, the colors, the rhythm…🎞️

Everything here is new to me.
Not that I really know the U.S.

So maybe it’s not about finding what feels familiar or comforting for me.
Maybe it’s about learning how to belong in places I’ve never been 🌎🗺️

That morning I just needed coffee and Wi-Fi for a Zoom call…

Instead of a coffee shop, I walked into a trading post.
The air smelled like wood, coffee, and something incense.
Native music played quietly.

It felt less like a store and more like a place where stories live.
I panicked: my Zoom call started in 10 minutes.

The man behind the counter asked,
“What are you looking for?”
“A coffee shop,” I said.
He smiled:
“This is a shop. I’ll make you coffee. Come in.”
That’s how I met Wayne.

Meet my carriage. Chrysler Town and Country. I call her Chris.

My friend Mike and I were driving back from Burning Man, and I told him about my film idea - a journey across the U.S. searching for the meaning of “home,” and how painful it is for me to return to San Francisco. He simply said, “Want to buy this car for $100?”

I was sooooo happy. After arriving in the U.S. with $1,000, going through heartbreak, divorce, and working survival jobs, I finally had my own car 💃

Sometimes I feel like a snail. But Chris doesn’t just take me from point A to point B; it feels like she’s bringing me back to myself.

And this temporary solitude is rich - and for the first time in a long time, I’m building memories, experiences, and friendships that are truly my own ✨

I continued my American odyssey in search of belonging and ended up in Yosemite. I woke up at 3 a.m., convinced I’d be first on the Half Dome summit (YouTube lied), hiked alone through a moonlit forest, and stopped cold when the trail turned into metal grips and bare rock.

Then a voice asked, “Do you want to climb with us?” My brain said absolutely not, my mouth said yes, and that’s how Lisa and Devan, helped me reach the top. Soon T caught up with us. For a brief moment, it was just the four of us on the summit, watching the sun rise - and I asked them what home means.

I started my preproduction, my road documentary movie, my American odyssey in search of belonging.
I bought a car (I call her - my carrige). She is pretty old, but I just met a couple from Germany, who are driving theri 47years old Volksvagen (from Alaska through Canada to the West of the USA).
So I decided to do a little test drive, to understand how is it to be on the road (I love Kerouak). So my first destination point was Sequoia National Park.
