Now that we're in our new house My goal is to create a functional and easy to care for garden that provides food year round & the variety you pick matter so much!

For my space I have added an Ichi Ki Kei Jiro Persimon and a muscadine grape! Both so easy to care for and will give me fruit for years to come without a lot of work!

They arrived so beautifully from @perfectplantsnursery with care instructions making the planting process so easy!

Our latest addition to the garden 🤍🌿

I’ve been struggling with this area of the yard for a while because it only gets morning sun, so finding plants that will actually thrive here has been a challenge.

I decided to give white hydrangeas from a try, and I think they’re going to be the perfect solution. I love the classic look of white hydrangeas, and I’m hoping these will fill out the planters and give us beautiful blooms for years to come.

I also love that @perfectplantsnursery is a family-owned nursery that has been growing plants since 1980, and they ship directly from their nursery right to your door. Everything arrived healthy and well packaged, and they even included a bamboo support stick to help keep the plants sturdy while they get established.

Now we wait for them to settle in and grow! 🤍

And of course, Jäger had to be involved. Apparently the garden needs his supervision too. 😂🐾🌿

There’s always that one moment in early spring when you realize… everything’s starting to bloom again 🌸

And the Ann Magnolia is usually right there with it.

Just as winter fades, this compact tree begins to fill with deep pink-purple blooms. Those classic, goblet-shaped flowers that almost don’t feel real at first glance 💜 They show up right when you’re craving color the most, and since Ann magnolias bloom a little later than other varieties, they tend to avoid those surprise late frosts.

It’s one of those trees that fits easily into everyday life:
☕ Catching the first blooms while sipping your morning coffee
🌿 Brightening up a smaller yard without overwhelming it
🌸 Adding that “spring is officially here” feeling right outside your window

And it’s just as practical as it is beautiful:
✔️ Grows well in USDA Zones 4–8
✔️ Compact size (around 10–12 ft tall), perfect for smaller spaces
✔️ Low-maintenance and naturally resistant to pests and diseases
✔️ Can even rebloom lightly in summer for an extra surprise 🌞

Ann Magnolia is a slower grower, which makes it easy to manage over time. Give it moist, well-drained soil, a mix of sun and partial shade, and a little extra water during its first year to help it settle in.

It’s not just a spring bloomer, it’s a small tree that quietly marks the seasons, from those early flowers to soft yellow leaves in fall 🍂

If you’ve been wanting something that brings color, structure, and a little calm to your space without taking over, this one’s a natural fit.
