This is a collection of images and short videos from my recent performance at the @draw2perform Drawing on Disability festival, following my residency with Ram Samocha from @performativedrawing

It was an absolute gift to have the time and space to explore and expand my creative practice. I can’t thank Ram enough, and I’m so grateful for the amazing people I got to meet and spend time with along the way. I know this isn’t the last time I’ll be here, I’ll definitely be back.

During the residency I developed a performance which explored my experience of living with Auditory Processing Disorder through repetitive mark-making, sound, movement, my body and light.

It was amazing to have a live audience witness both me and my artmaking in real time. Their responses and feedback afterwards were invaluable, particularly hearing how people experienced the work and what it brought up for them. Some of the reactions reflected exactly what I was trying to communicate, which was affirming. That exchange between myself, the work and the audience has become an important part of what I want to keep exploring through performance drawing.

The connection between myself, the artmaking and the audience is something I deeply value and it was exciting to experience it in a new way. by @performativedrawing

A warm welcome to artist Rebecca Bond, who has travelled all the way from New Zealand to join us in Brighton for a week-long Draw to Perform residency, mentored by Ram Samocha.

Rebecca first joined us as part of our online residency, and we're delighted to now welcome her in person for the on-site residency. Over the coming week, she will be immersed in the preparations for the upcoming Draw to Perform Festival, taking part in performances, workshops, and the collaborative creative process behind the festival.

We're excited to continue this journey together and can't wait to see what unfolds throughout the week.
