‘Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe’

Perfomed in collaboration with @defiledonc as a part of the ‘Allmende’ summer showing with @performativekunstklasse @klimabiannale @akbild

This live performance at Schillerpark takes the form of a series of tableaux vivants inspired by Édouard Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe. Using idealised images of nature, peaceful landscapes, and figures at rest, the work questions their relevance within today’s complex political context, where such images can offer comfort while also obscuring reality.
As the performance unfolds, gestures repeat, roles shift, and scenes dissolve into an endless rehearsal. By appropriating and exaggerating institutional and political language we expose its repetitive and performative nature questioning how artistic authority is constructed and connected to wider systems of power.

Live Performance for the Summer Showing @performativekunstklasse

Duration: 9 minutes

Is the nature we encounter today truly untouched?

This work begins with a fundamental question, examining our relationship with a nature that is already mediated, controlled, and reconstructed by human presence.

Through repeated contact between bodies, alginate objects, and the environment, the work explores how touch generates transformation, tension, and eventual collapse.

As these interactions accumulate, both nature and the work itself gradually lose their original form reflecting the unstable balance between control and change.

Threw the eyes of Wien holding, this performance represents the perfect rich, greenwashed and unpolitical lifestyle, that we should all strive for. To create “more Vienna to live” (mehr Wien zum leben) without the burden of thinking about strukturalistisch problems and the real needs of different people. Let’s celebrate the art of ignorance together with the wonderful singer and housewife Anke Birkenhof

At the summer showing „Allmende“ of the @performativekunstklasse I did a durational walking performance called „concrete surrounding“ in front of @akbild.
The work was based on strictly following the pavement at Schillerpark and continuously walking on the never ending concrete.

My direction was defined by a white line. If people blocked the line I addressed them with one sentence: „You are standing on my line“. Once the path was cleared, I continued walking.
Over time, the audience began to anticipate the movement and cleared the line automatically.
And soon some people even started joining the performance and followed my route through the space on the never ending concrete.

Description:

Calling departs from the structure of a traditional South Korean rain ritual known as Gi-u-jae.

By foregrounding the gesture of calling, the performance examines how humans address, invoke, and seek the natural world, while questioning the varying modes of this relationship and the nature of what is being called.

"What is it that we are calling, and what are we seeking?"

Focusing on social and material sustainability, the Summer Showing by the Studio of Art and Time I Pertormance presents live pertormances and installation works. Taking Schillerplatz—a space that has evolved over timeas its starting point, walking, movement, and sound intertwine with the tensions present on site: trees, plants, and birds encounter sealed surfaces and hidden, sometimes unexplained stories. The focus is on performative, collaborative processes of exchange between peop-le, plants, space, and materials.

Title: Deepen against line

Live Performance in Aula
21.4.2026 as part of Birgit Jürgenssen Prize 2026

Duration: 20mintues

Description:
Deepen against line explores a process of Warm-Death, where black time falls across the space. Black time takes the form of black sand, contained within 3D-printed objects suspended from the metal structures. Dispersed throughout the space, the material trace of time and its accumulation gradually unfolds over the duration of the performance.

The performer’s voice reverberates through the space, returning at both the beginning and the end, as time folds back onto itself. Movements emerge from the space, 3D-printed objects, and the hanging metal structures, lingering before settling onto the bodies of the audience.

Fragments of death - ashes, burial, graves - gather and circulate, intertwining with the acts of mourning. Within this reciprocal movement, Warm-Death emerges as a state that slowly permeates everyday life.

Dialogue
I communicate with my accordion on stage, it copys my heavy breathing, works against me or dances with me in harmony.
It represents my inner world, which is at times so heavy that it feels hard to breathe, and at other times lifts me up and lets and creates beautiful motion.
This dialogue is not judgmental. I try to offer a neutral space for all the different characters and feelings that shape my life and none of them are inherently good or bad.
I embody and dance with them, sometimes deeply connected, sometimes at a distance, yet always aware.
