we’re excited to present our last cafe of the year! we’re going back to our roots this time with a star-studded lineup of QTBIPOC vendors, alongside amazing local creatives! 🗓️ saturday, 11/14 ⏰ 11a–2p 📍 @hereismyclubhouse, 1623 s hoover st 🔗 rsvp at our link in bio! rsvps are not required but are encouraged to help us anticipate headcount. our goal at coalition cafe has always been to create a cozy space for community to come home to, whether that’s in LA, Palestine, or anywhere else. we want this cafe in particular to invoke the warmth of coming home after a long day; the nostalgia of your favorite dish; the joy and sorrow of finding art that speaks to your heart. we hope that everyone will leave with full bellies and a sense of home. funds raised from this campaign will support Let Hope Rise Gaza, a direct aid initiative founded by our friend Mahmoud. we’ll be posting more about Mahmoud and our vendors soon. graphics by @crystal.is.making by @perhaps.japanese

In chemistry, a flash point is the lowest temperature at which the vapour above a liquid can be ignited into air. However, metaphorically speaking - a flashpoint can refer to the critical moment, place, or event where a situation erupts into action or violence. by @perhaps.japanese
I’ve only experienced community the way my head idealized it when I started Perhaps Japanese 3 years ago. The decision to begin this project was purely because people kept telling me to do so, and the same people have continued to support me, alongside with new people who have held my hands (yup both) and taught me stuff unselfishly with nothing in return. Every birthday, I look back upon the years where I found myself drowning (literally & also metaphorically) & I was so sure I’d be in whatever heaven by now but look at me baking thousands of cookies and mochis a week, cooking lbs and lbs of noodles (gluten-free) and feeling very loved by the people I meet and cherish from this journey. Anyway it’s my birthday today and thank you for loving us. If you’d like, our gofundme is still link in bio to help with legal fees but other than that I hope you use me as a reminder to know that most shitty things really do pass and if they don’t come complain to me at my booth maybe I’ll just distract you with some cookies or something right 🌈 happy pride 🌈 by @perhaps.japanese
We invite everyone to celebrate the start of summer with us at the Pilipino Workers Center in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles! On July 5th from 5-7pm, we’ll be celebrating with performances and good vibes. You definitely won’t want to miss it! Open mic sign ups start at 4:30pm and will be a lottery based system to ensure fair chances for all. 🙌 Our theme this season is: Heat Rising. 🔥⬆️ Heat is a powerful form of energy, vital for survival. It is supplied from the sun, the stove for a home-cooked meal, the hugs we give each other, redistributed through touch and connection. It is light, warmth, and care in times of turmoil. It can be found in the fire ignited within ourselves. Fire can burst into chaos, a symbol for uprisings and revolution, but also renewal. It rises and inspires change. It can also burn out and in the aftermath, allow growth and new life to emerge. 💥For the month of July, we bring to light Flashpoint. In chemistry, a flash point is the lowest temperature at which the vapour above a liquid can be ignited into air. However, metaphorically speaking - a flashpoint can refer to the critical moment, place, or event where a situation erupts into action or violence. @pastichequeen, feature artist @owie.artwork, artist @apait_ssg, community spotlight (free hiv/sti test mobile bus) @perhaps.japanese, food @abi.gailpidazo, host @djwonbp, sound selection @transdefensefundla, self-defense kits @ilustradocreations, merch giveaway #SundayJump #Season14 by @perhaps.japanese
