@perry.action38 and I finding a flow state with these fun weapons of choice ❤️ A part of me still can’t believe we improvised all of this… but also that’s the beauty of trusting our storytelling.

We picked up our weapons, found stories or characters inside them, and let that move us in the way we did. We listened to each other’s instincts, and something magical happened.
.
Perhaps he is a yokai hunter and she is an oni of the Hyakki Yagyō? 👹Or a samurai… caught between his duty and his heart as he fights the demon who has stolen his lover’s form. If he lets her live, others will die. But if he kills the oni, his beloved will die with her.
.
Stories are powerful, and performance is elevated that much more when you can harness it ✨🥹

@nickbenseman was amongst the first industry professionals I met at @jamovement when I moved to LA 5 years ago. He was also 1 of 3 who saw my potential and believed I could go far.
•
Last week, not only did he guide me in putting together my first pre-viz, I also got to show him how much I’ve grown as an Action Actor.
•
Though imperfect, and I now know exactly how to reshoot it, I’m still damn proud of the fight & had a blast filming + editing it.
•
Thanks for everything, Nick! I look forward to learning more and working with you someday! 🩵🙏🏽 🎬
•
And thank you, @tmpsthq for hosting such a phenomenal workshop!
