Day 82
Banquet Day
As usual, my least favorite day of the year.
Woke up, somehow shoved everything into my bags, and left for the hotel.
🏆
Had a nice brunch, although i was lowk still feeling full from the “night” before
Awards and stuff
Age Out speeches mine was based off of a quote from an Ace Trainer on Route 14 in Pokemon Black;
“With a friend, you laugh twice for happy things, and cry half for sad things.”
that’s how Drum corps makes me feel
Said bye to all of my friends, and if i didn’t get to and you’re reading this then; “Bye! I miss y’all already” 😢
Went to spend the night at Vittos Cabin w Troop folks
then early airport and now i’m home.

Day 81
The End.

What a wild day…
To start the morning my backpack strap broke and i dropped my mello
Then i had misplaced my jug so i felt like i was constantly losing things and almost cried
(luckily i found my jug and could use a spare horn)
Rehearsal was good except it was my LAST ONE EVER 😭😭😭
Last Autumn Leaves (almost cried again)
Pre-Show Pop Tart which was lowkey clutch bc we ended up chilling in the convention center for like 20 minutes since we got there earlier than planned
Last Phoenix (in the lot)
INCREDIBLE SHOW EVEN MY MISTAKES WERE PERFECT
Scramble to circle then to retreat
I lowkey couldn’t find the bag my phone / Dsi were in and basically crashed out twice before retreat
(i ended up finding it right after so it was okay)
WE WON BAND‼️🥇 I genuinely could not keep myself together after the 99.1 I was crying like crazy.
All the work, all the inconveniences and hardships I was able to push through, somehow got me here, i still can’t believe it.
The victory was incredible i was cheesing the whole time lol
Afterward the Mellos went to Denny’s instead of Waffle house this year and we went till like 6am and i ate way too much and it was really nice (emotionally)

Semis!
Stretch in gym
weird rehearsal bc it rained a little then we cut ensemble short due to lightning
got Culver’s for the first time ever!!!! 8.1/10 (i was rlly hungry)
another convention center warm up
awesome show, my shoe came untied around pt 2 so i re tied it behind my prop at 118
Watched Phantom Alumni 🔥
AGE OUT CEREMONY IM AGED OUT NOW 😭

Prelims!
Nice rehearsal (it was cloudy)
Had a Pre Show Pop Tart (warm)
indoor warm up bc of ‘rain’
good show, got Panera after, saw friends :)

Indy Rehearsal Day | 3 days left until finals…
LAST FULL REHEARSAL DAY 😭
honestly pretty good, everything at this the housing site is super convenient
got to do my last laundry
vis block and a great lunch
brass circle and cleaning
dinner then ensemble
i also got to get one last pre-ensemble shower in 10/10 it felt amazing
lovely last rehearsal day
snack: 10/10 taquitos, loaded tater tots, and kettle chips (i love chips) 🔥

Travel Day | 4 days left until finals…
not a lot happened today
Mini stretch / rehearsal
EPL’d for the last time :,(
got on a bus and drove to Indy
had a nice dinner at Polaris Mall
watched a lot of DCI
crazy last 30 minutes on brass slack (un-disclosable things)
walked w Connor Finkle
Final dorms for the week

Day 76
BLOO HOME SHOW | 5 days left until finals…
Lots of rehearsing, lots of cleaning
weird logistics cuz we’re already at the show site
but i had a great show and the crowd was amazing (up there with the Rose Bowl)
encores were nice Bridge was my favorite
forgot / lost my day bag though :(((((
it’s starting to feel like i’m an age out for real now

longer day today
big cleaning projects in both vis and brass
slight rain ensemble

Akron Rehearsal Day | 7 days left until finals…
today was a wonderfully weird day
staying in a nice field house in a nice boarding school
donuts for breakfast, taco bowl for lunch 10/10
1 hour chill time before block
really nice stadium, cleaning vis then fire dinner mac and cheese bar
brass in the evening which was weird, ensemble was fun
played piano with Tony
snack: corndog bites 6/10

Day 72
Lawrence MA show day | 9 days left until finals
Woke up in New Hampshire , and it was raining
luckily it let up and we had a pretty okay rehearsal day
EPL walk, beautiful campus
weird lot in a grass baseball field
great show for me, 3.75 left to go also saw Jake
snack: Meatball sub, Macaroni & Cheese, and 3 Musketeers Pudding Cup 10/10
