Can’t say I dreamt it like this.
The kid packing a bag to stay with pops every other weekend didn’t believe this was possible.
The teenager trying to figure out what love was didn’t want it.
The young lover boy thought he was too soft for it.
But it was never in his control.

God had the script written.

That’s really the only explanation for how we got here.
The man today realizes it was never his story to write, but God’s will to fulfill.
A union with an imperfect, yet God fearing woman is a privilege I’ll never take lightly.
I’ll carry the load, with my prayer warrior beside me till the end.
I didn’t dream it like this.
But it’s exactly what I needed.

Julian and Perry in their element — surrounded by the art, architecture, and energy of their hometown for their engagement session. Chicago isn’t just the backdrop, it’s a part of their story. So excited to capture their wedding day next fall at the beautiful @merrimonwynne house back in our hometown!

I’m the luckiest girl in the world.

Three years ago, I moved to Chicago. Building community here hasn’t always been easy, and there were many moments I wondered if this city would ever truly feel like home.

Yesterday was such a beautiful reminder of how things can change.

Julian knew I wasn’t going into 30 feeling super excited, and in true Julian fashion, he listened, paid attention, and turned this birthday into one I’ll never forget. He surprised me with a room full of the people who have made Chicago feel like home - friends who have become family.

Looking around and seeing all of my people in one place was surreal. To be loved so intentionally by my future husband & celebrated by such an incredible community is the absolute best birthday gift 🥹💖 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @perry_humes
