The 6x6 silent auction at the @anagalleryinrogers happens December 10th at the gallery in beautiful downtown Rogers.
Artists donate their pieces to raise funds for programs and events in NWA.
If you’re a Northwest Arkansas artist and you’re interested in participating, check the @artistsofnorthwestarkansas site and see how to contribute your work.
And if you’re a collector looking for smaller pieces, this is a great opportunity to find just the right piece for your space and style.
Check the website for details about this auction, or follow the page for reminders.

Still a polishing and varnishing to go… but pretty happy with the results.

I’m hoping to make these look effortless. In reality, that’s harder to achieve than one might expect. I’m not sure about adding metal leaf in a few small spots. Although I’m afraid of ruining the silky and subtle luster, just a touch of glam might be eye catching… 🤔 ?
Any thoughts to share with me?

A very hectic and stressful week behind me now, so I finally feel like I can catch my breath and relax again. A little wind down painting is just nice, even though I am behind on everything else at home, sometimes a person just needs a minute.
These three 6x6 pieces are for the @artistsofnorthwestarkansas fundraiser coming up soon!

This is just one of many paintings that will be on display soon! My nature and water paintings are less about realism, more about capturing the essence of nature. I aim for a peaceful and calm feeling. What do you feel when you see this painting?

Still some work to do on these, but they’ve dried nicely! I haven’t decided yet exactly what direction to go .🤔 monochrome or adding color?
Anyhow, painting is on hold for the weekend and part of next week while we do some celebrating and packing/moving tasks.
You can bet I will be thinking about it in the meantime..

First layer of paint on these little 6x6 canvases for the ANA Christmas silent auction. They’ve got some lustrous textured metallic paint already, who knows where they can go from here.?
Possibilities are endless!

If ever you go back through your memory lane of photos and see those years where you accomplished so much, sold so many paintings, thought you maybe could make a second career from art and things were good. Please don’t compare where you were then with this year.
We are allowed to be less productive when we are stressed and tired. When the future we want for our children is at stake. Stay strong.
Think of peace, beauty and being a good person.
Also think of flowers. 🌺

If you follow me already you know that my life is more than just the painting. I usually share a few foraging forays in my stories, but try to stick mostly to art here. I felt like this was worth a reel though.
We might all be foraging more in the next year or so. Anyway- a good skill to have and hone, or teach to the next generation.
Here’s our recipe for
Acorn Pancakes 🥞
3/4 c acorn flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp salt
3/4 c sourdough discard
1 egg
1/3 to 1/2 cup milk.
Cook like regular pancakes!
Tada!
And let me know in the comments if you’d like more content like this occasionally or should I start a separate page for that? 🤷🏻‍♀️
