We are honored to be part of Stories in Cloth: Communicating Through Textiles, a collaborative exhibition by the La Jolla Historical Society and the Visions Museum of Textile Art. Through textiles, artists share stories of identity, memory, resilience, and cultural expression, reminding us that every thread carries a story. We are also proud to feature beautiful works by our amazing artist, Maryam Bayat, in this group exhibition.

On view June 27–September 6, 2026. We hope you will visit and experience these inspiring works. taken in Lajolla Callifornia by @persianplace

The Sofreh project is a wonderful, ongoing collaborative project, and this summer we are sharing it at the Oceanside Museum of Art Summer Camp.
The kids gathered around the sofreh and added their own artwork. Some even included the Persian Place logo, making it even more meaningful.
We then made Persian tea bags together, filling them with cinnamon and dried rose petals. It was a beautiful sensory experience that brought together art, culture and community. taken in Oceanside Museum of Art by @persianplace

Today, we had an amazing workshop exploring the Cypress, a symbol of resilience in Persian culture.
With our wonderful artist, Maryam Bayat, participants painted pre-cut cypress trees, sanded, sewed, and filled them to create small cypress sculptures, all inspired by the exhibition Unrolling Paradise.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this workshop such a special experience. taken in California Center for the Arts, Escondido by @persianplace

If you go to Trader Joe’s, please take one of this month’s flyers; it’s full of artwork from museums, with some funny notes.

And look at this on the second page of the flyer: “This man whose only happiness comes from Trader Joe’s teeny tiny pies.”

The original artwork is called a portrait of a statesman, by Yahya Ghaffari, dated 1294, and now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. by @persianplace
