Hello! My name is Andrew, and I'll be your Personal Tutor in all things Magic: The Gathering. I run a Magic club at an elementary school, and so many parents have asked me if there is an easy way for them to learn how to play. That prompted me to make this page! Magic is a great game for all ages that teaches many skills. If you want to learn how to play, this is the page for you. Make sure you follow. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! Kokusho, the Evening Star was the rare in my first ever Magic pack. I remember my brother having to read the card so that I knew what it did. It has always held a special place in my heart. The art, the ability, everything about it is incredible. Thank you for joining me on this journey! #mtg #magicthegathering #planeswalker #magicthegatheringcommunity #magicthegatheringartwork by @personaltutor.mtg
Believe victims. Keep advocating for each other. Make this a space we are proud to share. Edit: *Hold your community accountable. Sorry for missing that typo. This stuff is too important to let mistakes slide. by @personaltutor.mtg
Hello! I'm back! The last few months, I have been working with @midcoast.gg and Level Up Games - St. Paul, to organize an awesome opportunity for kids to come and learn how to play Magic: The Gathering. We will be focusing on fun-damentals and basics. And the cherry on top, it's completely free. I have received massive amounts of donations from organizations like @magikids_org, @midcoast.gg, and independent enthusiasts with the intention of distributing cards to the next generation of players. The mission of this program is to create a third space for children to play, be themselves, and experience connection with other people away from screens. We are dedicated to providing an inclusive safe space for kids to come and learn (maybe) the greatest game created. Through Magic, kids are challenged to use critical thinking, strategy, math, and good sportsmanship. Did I mention it's going to be free? Join me and fellow educators on Saturday, September 12th at 10:00am to kick off this great new program! #mtg #planeswalker #magicthegatheringcommunity #mtgcommunity #wizardsofthecoast by @personaltutor.mtg

Tomorrow we are all set for another session of the Junior Planeswalker series over at Level Up - St Paul. We will talk about how to set up your board state! The most important things about board states is about consistency and not being a jerk! Hope to see you tomorrow at 10am! #twincitiesevents #mtgcommunity #mtg #wizardsofthecoast #planeswalker by @personaltutor.mtg
Yesterday I got to draft Conspiracy at Cardboard for a Cause hosted by @t.c.brewcrew and @midcoast.gg. There were so many people who came out to support and raise money for the event. It was awesome to see our community show up, like it usually does. Thank you to everyone who helped put on such a great event! As always I feel so lucky to work and give back in such a caring community. Next week, we are back at Level Up - St Paul with the Junior Planeswalker series. See y'all there on Saturday October 31st! #wizardsofthecoast #mtgcommunity #magicthegatheringcommunity #twincitiesevents #mtgart by @personaltutor.mtg
Hello everyone! This week we will be talking about card types. This is usually where I start to lose some students. It seems confusing initially to have all these different things but those who persevere and learn how each card type can be used to its advantage come away feeling closer to the game. I'll be at Level Up - St. Paul tomorrow going into more detail about each card type. I hope you join me! I've also covered each card type in previous videos! #learntoplay #twincitiesevents #mtg #wizardsofthecoast #planeswalker by @personaltutor.mtg

Sometimes working with kids can feel overwhelming. The start of the school year meant getting back into business as usual with the kids. Most of the time they treat the cards I bring with respect and they are generally gentle. This week I gave them a little more freedom as I engaged more with playing rather than deck crafting. When I came to check in, the cards were everywhere. I felt like the trust we had built had been broken. But! Then I checked in, reset expectations and gave them a second chance the next day. The cards were organized and treated appropriately. It felt good to be in community with kids. We had an honest conversation and I reminded them about our agreement. And they rose to the occasion. #mtg #planeswalker #learntoplay #magicthegatheringcommunity #magicthegathering by @personaltutor.mtg
