Playing with proportions. This wafer paper ranunculus has a smaller, tighter center with longer overbloomed petals. And a pretty ombre colorway from pale to light pink. Happy Thursday!

A quick peek at a few moments when I was making my sugar gardenias for yesterday's moody florals collab.

SUGAR GARDENIAS

Today, I have the pleasure of co-hosting the Still Life Moody Bakes Collab with the ever-so-lovely and talented @charrajf!

Inspired by the beautifully lit, dreamy floral paintings of the Dutch Masters, our group will be sharing all of their own floral masterpieces today.

DETAILS
Gardenias and leaves in gumpaste
Leaf sheen using confectioner's glaze
Dust colors by @thesugarart

My intention was to arrange these on a cake dummy, but I discovered too late I didn't have enough fondant to cover my Styrofoam. So, a flatlay was a great second choice.

Thank you so much to Charra for hosting with me and to all the wonderful artists participating today! Please check out everyone's beautiful work at #stilllifemoodybakes.

Not very Christmasy, but a bit of moody lighting helps these flowers fit the season.

A mix of wafer paper flowers and sugar flowers, with lots of greenery. Peonies, ranunculus, and sweet peas.

Deep colors for Fall...this dark plum is becoming a favorite, especially for ranunculus flowers!

These colors for #floralfriday. Definitely a bit of a Fall feel, but with poppies, sweet peas, and ranunculus. Mixed media with sugar flowers and wafer paper flowers.
