Getting that promotion to partner in ‘04 must’ve felt so incredible. Especially when options like these were available to spend that money on!

Porcelain White Autobiography 🤍
.
Story saw it first but I thought it was time to make an intro post for my new daily driver! This is my L494 Range Rover Sport Autobiography! But since the name is such a mouthful, I’ve affectionately nicknamed it ‘Sporty Spice.’
.
And spicy it is, because powering my L494 is the mighty AJ 5.0 Supercharged V8. The AJ 5.0 has found its way into a myriad of JLR cars ranging from 2-door sports cars to fullsize SUV’s over the last 15 years, and this 510hp variant of the lump is an absolute GEM of a powerplant! Tons of power and great throttle response everywhere in the rev range, and with a great exhaust note too!
.
In terms of options, this is without a doubt the single best optioned car I’ve owned, I truly feel spoiled by it. Heated/Cooled front & rear seats, heated steering wheel, dual pane glass, 825-Watt sound system, lane departure, radar cruise, pano roof, and even a freaking fridge. You name it, this Rover’s got it.
.
While the L494 lacks some of the visual panache and presence of an L322 or L405 Full Size Range, it makes up for it in spades. Not only does the L494 handle fantastically on the road, it’s locking center and rear diffs and TerrainSelect systems mean it’s got the offroad chops of its big siblings too.
.
I’m looking forward to many adventures with this one! 🥂

Twenty Ate! 🎂 So glad they finally started putting photos in these “book” things for me! 🥸
.
The last 365 days of my life have yielded some of the most exhilarating, exciting and fun memories, that I’ll cherish and carry forward for a lifetime! This last year has also provided me with an immeasurable number of growth opportunities for me, both personally and professionally.
.
From three trips to Europe, covering France, Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Germany, Croatia, Serbia and Spain, to a new home in the heart of Seattle, and to both landing a dream job and working on a business venture I’ve been dreaming about for ages (more on that soon 👀), 27 has been an incredible journey!
.
Grateful for all the memories I’ve made and the incredible friends I’ve seen and made, here’s to a lot more of the same in the big 28. 🥂

‘All I ever wanted was a Big Body Benz’
.
.
Story saw it first, but I think it’s time I fully introduce the latest addition to my fleet. This is my 2004 Mercedes-Benz W220 S500 Lorinser!
.
Back in the 80’s and 90’s there was an explosion of tuning companies that put their mark on the respective Merc models of those decades. By the turn of the millennium however, a few prominent leaders in the space had emerged. Since AMG had been absorbed into the Mercedes fold, if you wanted to go faster, you went to RennTech, and if you wanted to go even faster than that, you got a Brabus kit. But if what you wanted was to look and sound good, you went and got a Lorinser kit.
.
And that’s exactly what then-Seattle Mariners pitcher @jeff.nelson43 did in 2005. After buying a 2004 S500 from his teammate @franky3131, Jeff took this W220 to a well-known local shop and had it fitted with a complete Lorinser ‘DTM’ kit, including the iconic LM5 wheels, Lorinser exhaust, and full lorinser bumper/skirt kit (at a cost of $25,000!)
.
Coupled with the deep gloss black paint, this created a bespoke, baller big body benz, one that balances comfort, performance and style in a way that only a ‘kitted’ S-class can. Fast forward by 20 years, and I had the privilege of buying this Lorinser S500 off of its 3rd owner who bought it back in 2007.
.
This W220 has remained in the Seattle area since, and is in remarkably preserved condition, showing just a hair over 73,000 miles on the odometer today. While digging through the folder of paperwork that accompanied this S500, I found the original sales contract and Lorinser bodykit invoices, which revealed the car’s modification and MLB-adjacent history. These full-size Mercedes - particularly ones with body kits and modifications from those aforementioned tuning houses - have a long standing history of being associated with pro athletes across all varieties of sports, a trend that has continued to this day. Ask any MLB, NFL or NBA player what they’d have in their dream garage and I guarantee you, a lot of them would say they want a ‘Big Body Benz.’

I’m excited to own this slice of MLB and MBZ history! ⚾️

Range Rover Appreciation Post
.
Unfortunately for my financial wellbeing, this old Supercharged L322 Range Rover has managed to utterly and completely worm its way into my heart. Despite all its flaws and abysmal fuel economy, I’ve yet to find another rig I’d rather climb into every day in, day out.
.
In a lot of ways, an L322 in 2026 is like a loyal old family dog. It may not be the sharpest anymore and its best days may be a memory, but it’s a beloved and a loyal member of the family, and you find it hard to imagine a world without it being around.
.
Despite its flaws the Rover remains a capable workhorse. It doesn’t matter if the task at hand is a ski trip in the mountains, a muddy field or unpaved track, a roadtrip across the state or being used as a moving van, the L322 can just do it all without batting an eye.
.
So here’s to the Rover. A characterful old British lump that’s taken me on countless adventures over these last few years, and here’s to many, many more. 🍻
