I help bands look as great as they sound. I’m all about the creative process… Dream, design, plan, and execute. Always learning. Ask me anything.

Thanks Melbourne for an awesome @ozcomiccon 2026!
You were amazing! ⚔️

Incredible cosplays everywhere, awesome people coming by the stall, and plenty of epic saber battles throughout the weekend.

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by, had a chat, picked up a saber, or jumped in for a clash. And special thanks to my lovelies who helped run things on the day! 🖤

We’re into the 2nd half of the festival and it was time for something different. I wanted something dark, and contrasting rich depth with harsh bright without losing the darkness. Really happy with how it worked on the side stage. #lightingdesign #melbournemetal #heavymetalmusic #blackmetal by @pete_lights

What a show! @enforcerofficial are true heavy metal legends, and @yourmatebookings are smashing it with killer shows. So happy to punch those lighting buttons and be part of the party. #lightingdesign #melbournemetal #melbournebands #chamsys #melbourneband #speedmetal #heavymetalmusic taken in The Leadbeater Hotel by @pete_lights

I always spend a bit of time setting and adjusting spot positions before (and during) a show - aiming just behind the mics on stage. One of my fav effects is framing the action with a fancy spot effect, you’ve got so many options from there - from a subtle slow rotating, to pulsing, flashing and moving away to jump back. I’m especially grateful when the band leans into the effect - pro tip… if you see shiny beams stand in it, move around etc, just don’t stand still next to it!
Also makes for great photos, shots from Sat nights show of @harakiriforthesky_official @official_austere @suldusk @_munitions_

📷 @naomidans Blue and green for the legendary @planetot8s at @leadbeaterhotel last year. Pushing the vibe with big slabs of colour, some movement, and spikes of interest. This show was busking with a couple days of notice, so at this point we’re on the 2nd set and I’m still working out the desk and how the different lights are mixing together. First time on a #chamsys, it was a great experience - a bunch of manual reading and tutorial watching was good prep for the gig. The haze machine is on the blink, but the awesome in-house team are running back and forward giving it a kick to get it running again. I knew the next band was going to be a darker/moodier vibe so I pushed the saturation hard to really separate the two looks.

📷 @naomidans When the lights, and the music, and the performance all peak at the same time, it’s like a door opens to another universe. @jack.harlon.and.the.dead.crows set supporting @dozer_band at @leadbeaterhotel was inspired, the sonic beauty and the bands performance was incredible, and there was me trying to keep up from behind the lighting desk. Then, just in time, the moving lights landed in a great spot and I pounced, stopped the movers and tweaked the position a little. Magic is never planned, but all of the planning gets you ready when it happens.

Colour matching the spots and movers to the video at @howlermelbourne was fun! @danieldeluxemusic had by far the most detailed creative brief I’ve been given, loved the thought he puts into his art. I went for a more “lights on crowd” approach for this show to give the video space to shine.

Quick lighting tour of @thenightterrors at @howlermelbourne - the artistic goal was to slowly pickup the energy through the set with movement and colour changes, and keep the vibe really distinct from the headliner @danieldeluxemusic so that nothing would feel overused later on. Really enjoyed the vibes on stage 🧛🩸🤘

🎥 @condor_n (sorry for the direct hit with the spot beam)

Love this moment at the @midnightviolators show at @maxwattsvenue, somehow the lighting vibe for the night ended up as neon space opera with a dark twist, the energy of the band on stage was incredible, it was hard to keep up with the lighting. At times I think the lights edged into “distracting” rather than “complimenting” territory, but the bands energy was infectious and I just went with it.

The shadows on the roof really added to the drama in this scene - it wasn’t part of the plan, but I was really happy with how the back lighting from the floor created a cool vibe above the crowd when I really boosted it.
