We are buzzing to be back at the fortune for our July edition of Think Twice. Fittingly, we two very special guests joining us:

JD
Brighton native JD cut his teeth behind the counter of legendary vinyl purveyors, Phonica Records. During his time in London he ran a regular party Okay Good that gained a loyal following was well as Djing alongside music royalty like Theo Parrish. After returning to Brighton a few years back he co-founded the brilliant Voya which has gone on to become a Brighton institution. We are super excited for him to make his debut behind the Think Twice turntables serving up some vinyl only delights the way only he can.

Chris Boland
Also on the bill is one third of the TAXI team, Chris Boland. Chris has been DJing since the 90’s and brings with him a deep breadth of musical knowledge which is 100% dance floor focused. The TAXI team have hosted guests including Marcia Carr, Charlie Dark, Emma-Jean Thackeray and Selassie TBC at their regular parties and are big fans of a dance up. Those that joined us last year for our TAXI X Think Twice colab at the fortune will know that this is not one to be missed!

There’s no think twice this month as it’s the fortune fest takeover at the FOW. HOWEVER, the lovely people behind it have kindly invited us to come and close things out on Friday night. We’re on from midnight to 2 am. But come early so you don’t miss anything as it’s a Stella line up:

South of Houston celebrates its 25th birthday with a daytime-through-sunset beach party, bringing a top-drawer line-up of musical connoisseurs to a remote and secluded spot just outside Brighton – a beach steeped in rave history, home to a wealth of free parties in the 90s, with the shadow of a power station and an industrial port standing between the party and civilisation. That’s a good thing!

For the last couple of years the team at @carats.cafe.bar have been bringing those big parties back, with a purpose-built outdoor stage and dancing area right on the sea’s edge. There are two bars and an indoor second room if needed, with crowds of 4-500 people dancing to luminaries like Darren Emerson and Felix Da Housecat (both in 2025).

This party, ’SELECCIONES TROPICALES’, sets a different tone with an earlier start and a daytime/evening party vibe and a definite nod to groove-based worldwide flavours. Expect latin and afro beats, jazz and all manner of tropical sunshine music. Mix in plenty of soulful house, disco, broken beat, possibly maybe even a bit of acid house. One thing you can predict – this will be feelgood music.

South of Houston co-founder Ben GC (@bengc5000) has curated a line-up for the heads. Each guest DJ is an avid collector, an exemplary dancefloor journey-maker and top class mixing technician – and most importantly, each and every one of them is a party starter!

THE MIGHTY ZAF (@the_mighty_zaf) and KATIE BARBER (@adventuresofbarbs) need no introduction, both being serious heavyweights of the UK scene. Both are considered so highly by the legend Gilles Peterson that he entrusts them with closing party duties at Worldwide Festival and We Out Here respectively. That’s a huge responsibility and both bring the tears and the memories for thousands year after year.

Support comes from BEN GC, with added meat on the tropical bbq from the excellent PETE SEA (@petecq), one third of Brighton high-achievers and popular party outfit @we_are_taxi. Joining them is DAVID LOJA (@davidlojaloja), the young man from Hungary, famed for his encyclopedic musical knowledge, who brings his unique personality and skills to the decks.
