They really shouldn’t leave the Englishman unattended. I kept seeing the advert saying I could adopt an elephant for just £3 a month, but they said no, not enough space in the cabin and how big a Pooh bag I would need when I walked it. One should not send an Englishman to shovel snow in Norway. Usually Norway enjoys dry powder snow, perfect for skiing and snowboarding, no good for snowballs and snowmen. Recently the climate has produced chrystaline snow which is perfect for building. I had seen the creations locally and felt I could do better. Not even for the honour of my former country (which on the rare occasion has snow all that is produced is a three foot boulder of slush and dogshit)
This was sculpted to show Norway what could be done and because I have time on my hands. I needed to clear an area under the trees at the back of my apartment to access the washing line (nothing dries in winter it freezes solid but stays fresh till I have space on the airer though it does absorb the fabulous scent of outdoors) I piled the snow into the middle, packed it then carved and sculpted the reclining figure. Just finished a project that has been patiently waiting for a long time. I picked up a saddle that had been retired from use but was solid and pure leather, it’s spine was unbroken and was perfect for my purpose. A few options for the stool till I was offered this 3 legged circular topped pinewood. It was badly broken and would have been dumped or burned; new dowels and a total rebuild brings it back into use. Next to create a wooden replica of a horses vertebrae curved and spaced to accept the saddle bolting it onto the stool with threaded rod and butterfly nuts. The result is the most comfortable seat in the house. A saddle has been refined over hundreds of years to be a place to sit for hours day after day, making it perfect for the workshop, at the computer or next to the bar. I don’t do Arsebook, this was sent to me by a pal in England. Well, what goes around comes around and those mocking words can come around to bite him in the arse. Why does an 18 year old boy need one of these? Why does anyone? What adversary does the American 2nd amendment envisage being effectively defended against by boys with assault rifles? These are not for hunting or sporting marksmanship, the purpose is in the name: ASSAULT.
Just like so many other massacres it could have been avoided. Another list of dead children and two teachers sacrificed for this ‘freedom’ how many of Americas foes have been thwarted by civilian gun ownership? The people who are dying are the ones that the gun owners claim to want to protect.
The military have weapons to defend the country, criminals have guns because they are so readily available, the police have guns to defend the public. People made a big thing a while back about cultures that choose to wear the burka, they have forgotten that at one time it was very fashionable for people to wear strips of black cloth over their eyes like a ‘burka negative’.
(It might even be the origin of the burka; thousands of black veils with just the single rectangle removed)
