September is Suicide Prevention Month, and I think it’s important to take a second to appreciate the people in our lives who might not even realize how much they’ve helped us.

I’m incredibly thankful for my friends. For the people who have been there during the good times, the stressful times, and the moments when life just feels overwhelming. Sometimes it’s the biggest conversations that help, but honestly, sometimes it’s just having someone around, getting a random text, laughing about something stupid, or knowing you’re not alone.

I don’t think we say it enough, but you never truly know what someone else might be going through behind closed doors. Check on your friends. Send the text. Ask how they’re doing and actually mean it. Be there for people, even when you don’t completely understand what they’re going through.

To my friends: thank you for being in my life and for all the moments, conversations, laughs, and support, whether you realize how much they meant to me or not. I’m grateful for every single one of you.

You matter. Your life matters. And no matter how alone you might feel sometimes, there are people who want you here. 🤍 by @peter.augustyniak22

I am taking the time to write this post not for attention but just because there is someone out there that may need to hear this. It’s been almost 3 years since the night that I wasn’t sure I would ever come back from. For the guardian angel that was on my shoulder that night, thank you for keeping me on this earth. To my friends and family that are there for me every day I am eternally grateful for keeping me going everyday. I write this post ultimately hoping it reaches someone that needs to hear it today.
