🇦🇪 “The UAE is a safe place to play golf.”

Pete Cowen explains why the UAE continues to provide a great environment for professional golfers — and why he’s delighted to see the HotelPlanner Tour teeing it up here this week. ⛳️ by @peter.cowen

⛳️ Fred Parlby had the ideal grounding in the game – his grandfather is one of the world’s finest coaches, Pete Cowen.

But there's no substitute for experience on Tour. From picking up tips from Chris Wood to handling pressure and life on the road, Fred took plenty from his first season on the MENA Golf Tour.

Now he's putting those lessons into practice at Q School as he targets a full card for the season ahead.

@jackwhaley_golf I honestly don’t think I could be any prouder of you. Congratulations on winning the @usga U.S. Amateur Championship @meriongolfclub — the biggest amateur golf event in the world.
What an incredible achievement.

When I think back to where this journey started, it makes this moment even more special. From all those years of coaching and lessons, playing junior opens and mini tour events, to 7:00am Sunday morning golf at the caravan on holiday, there have been so many moments, big and small, that have been part of the journey.

And now, to sit and watch you win the U.S. Amateur with your Dad @andy.whaley.50 on the bag is something I’ll never forget.

To see all those years of dedication, discipline, focus, determination and relentless work towards your goals come together on the biggest stage is incredibly special.

I’m unbelievably proud of your recent performances and everything you’ve achieved, but if I’m honest, I’m even more proud of the young man you’ve become along the way. The golfer you are is exceptional, but the person you have grown into is what makes me proudest.

You have always had the talent, but it’s your attitude, work ethic, resilience and belief in yourself that have taken you to this level. You’ve put in the hours when nobody was watching, stayed committed when things weren’t easy, and kept chasing your goals year after year.

To have been part of your journey from those freezing cold nights on the range to watching you become U.S. Amateur Champion is a privilege I’ll always be incredibly grateful for.

Enjoy every second of this. You’ve earned it.

Massive congratulations,

☀️⛳ What a fantastic way to round off our 2026 Mini Tour! ⛳☀️

Yesterday’s final Mini Tour event @doncastergolfclub was a brilliant success, with so many young golfers enjoying valuable on course experience while having fun in the sunshine.

It was fantastic to see our juniors developing their skills in a real playing environment, making new friends, growing in confidence, and creating memories that will stay with them for years to come.

Days like these are what junior golf is all about!

A huge thank you to everyone @doncastergolfclub for such a warm welcome and outstanding hospitality throughout the day. Your support and generosity helped make the event a truly enjoyable experience for every player and their families.

A special mention also goes to club professional @andrewbradleygolf who took the time to get involved with the juniors, offering encouragement around the greens and sharing his knowledge. The players really appreciated your support, and it made a big difference to their day.

Thank you to all of our players, parents, volunteers, sponsors @cubefunder @golfing4life_ @callawaygolfeu @odysseygolf_tour and supporters for making this year’s Mini Tour such a memorable one.

We can’t wait to see everyone again soon!
