Far End Of The Sea is completed and available to watch on YouTube. It was a whirlwind adventure from shooting to post production. I can say proudly our camera and lighting team has excelled with all the challenges thrown at them!

The Naruen government who funded this project were ecstatic and full of emotion when finally shown on the big screen., and the Naruen public with the same response so really shows both from our Australian team and the Naruen cast and crew, we made something very special.

Super proud of this short feature ‘Far End of the Sea’ that’s about to premiere on the Pacific island nation of Nauru. I was asked by good friend and actor Jamie Coffa (from The Legend of Ben Hall) to direct his original screenplay, and was joined by regular collaborators Peter Szilveszter, Ronnie Minder, Felipe Teplitsky, Joshua Little, Justin Astbury and Phil Meddows. With a fantastic crew of Nauruans and Australians, we filmed on the island in February for two weeks - the first narrative film ever shot there.

Tomorrow it screens for the first time on Nauru.
Huge congratulations to producers Yannick, Cramer and Jamie for pulling it altogether. Everyone should be very proud of the end result - a beautiful, insightful and exciting story that will introduce audiences to a this unique part of the world. Break a leg, team!!!

Earlier this month I had the privilege of working on the short film 'Far End Of The Sea' written by @jamiecoffa , set in the beautiful country of Nauru.

Reuniting with @matt_holmes77 (Director) and @peter.sz (DOP), alongside an amazing Australian crew of familiar and new faces, and an emerging Nauruan crew who truly rose to the challenge, I can confidently say we captured an incredible and moving story.

Huge thanks to Pleasant Island Productions, Yannick Detsiogo, Cramer Cain, Jamie Coffa, and the Government of Nauru for making this such a meaningful and fulfilling experience. Proud to have been part of the first film of this scale ever shot in the country. The Nauruan crews talent, commitment, and professionalism were inspiring to see. You’d never guess this was their first times on a production of this scale 🇳🇷🎬

Synopsis: "Washed ashore on a small island in the Pacific, shipwrecked Scottish sailor, Hamish MacKay, is quickly taken captive by local islander Adiben. On route back to Adiben's village where an ill fate certainly awaits him, Hamish must figure out a way to escape his captor. At the same time, Adiben must make an impossible choice: to fulfil his responsibility to his people or to help a stranger lost at the far end of the sea."

That’s a wrap in Far End Of The Sea! What an adventure in Nauru, it’s the first narrative film ever made there so we really wanted to make something special that would make them proud!

I took an amazing camera and lighting team for delivering beautiful work. We also had local Nauruans joining as well who jumped in with full enthusiasm and although not experienced in film making they picked up everything very quick and helped us to have a very smooth shoot.
