The Nymph🌿✨

I used to spend hours in the lab finding new ways to make pharmaceutical molecules using enzymes to prevent excess waste and toxic chemicals leaking into our atmosphere and create more sustainable pathways for the chemical industry. It’s a cause that I believe in wholeheartedly. And while I’ve left the lab behind, what better way to bridge the gap than with a short film that reimagines our toxic relationship with the environment through the lens of an unbalanced queer love story for @greenpeace 💚
.
Throw in a gorgeous production design (a living, breathing forest lake inside a giant film studio!!), stunning creature SFX makeup, the inimitable @snakeynator and the most wonderful prod team I could ever dream of and this is the result!
.
My heart feels so full just thinking about this experience, just thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone involved. It was a literal dream project from start to finish.
.
There’s a long way for us to go environmentally, socially, politically (and these things are always interconnected) but if there’s one thing I believe in, it’s that with enough time and energy we can make the change we need. We owe it to our planet.
.

Beyond lucky to be working with the most generous, supportive and talented group of guys to bring ole Willy’s tragedy to life. I’m unironically very proud of all the love, life and work that’s going into this show and it’s truly remarkable how delicately it speaks to today’s world - the love and trust we should hold onto, the harm we cause others to get ahead and the true value of honesty. Well worth a watch on a balmy summer’s eve!!🌅

blessed to have so many beautiful people and so many incredible experiences in my life this past year
.
my sister’s wedding, moving to london, acting, writing and directing shows from oxford to london, starting drama school and - finally - leaving the lab (thesis pending…)
.
without wanting to get too morbid, 2023 also marks five years since I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer which now means less regular MRI and CT scans! at one point, all these things seemed so far out of reach. and yet here we are.
.
grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
