Well…2025 is officially in the books. As is the case with everyone, there was good that happened last year, and there was also bad. But that’s just how life goes. It’s full of ups and downs, highs and lows, hills and valleys…and God is with us through it all. Nelson Mandela has a great quote I do my best to live my life by: “I never lose. I either win or I learn.” It’s up to you to make 2026 the best year of your life. Make sure to take the wins from 2025 into the new year, but also be sure to learn from the mistakes you made in 2025 and allow them to make you better. As Rafiki said in The Lion King: “Oh, yes…the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it…or learn from it.” If you approach life with the mindset of always trying to learn and grow, even in the midst of setbacks and disappointments, you’ll naturally see the progression of your life getting better year after year. by @peter_moses

I refuse to stoop so low as to use lyrics from Empire State Of Mind to caption a post about a trip to New York. I will, however, inform you of the interesting fact that it’s actually against the law to honk your horn in New York City. You wouldn’t know it since they all do it anyway, but it is illegal. As we’ve exited 2023 and have now entered 2024, I want to leave you all with this quote (that I, myself, totally…definitely…obviously came up with): “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.” Learn from the past and what you’ve been through, but don’t wallow in regret about all the bad things you see in the rear view mirror. Plan for and look ahead to the future, but don’t get bogged down in stress and fear about the uncertainty of tomorrow. Live in the moment. Have fun. Enjoy life. Be thankful for each and every day. None of us are promised tomorrow, so do your absolute best to be a good steward of the gift you’ve been given: today. If you weren’t already doing that in 2023, if you do it in 2024, I can just about guarantee you that this year will be better than your last. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Well…I’m two weeks late, but it’s better late than never. This Fine Arts season feels like it went by so fast, yet it contains memories that will last me a lifetime. Fine Arts constantly reminds me how rich in talent @dreamcityyth is, and every single one of our students represented @dreamcitychurch so well and absolutely brought it in every single one of their performances at Nationals this year in Columbus, Ohio.

I got the honor and privilege of coaching a hip hop/urban team again with @stephen_p_moses, and the fact that we were able to create this dance to function as a ministry piece just makes it that much more special. I’m so incredibly proud of the girls Stephen and I handpicked to be a part of this team, and even though we both might need therapy because of these girls and the trauma they gave us (i.e. #BallsBallsBalls, etc. 🤦🏾‍♂️), I couldn’t be more grateful for every single one of them. These girls left it all out there on the dance floor in Columbus, and they blew me and everyone who got to watch them perform away. Let’s just not talk about the hip hop judges at Nationals this year… 😑 #MakeUrbanGreatAgain

In addition to coaching hip hop, I was blessed to be able to coach Chase and Malachi on their human video solos this year. Both students performed their absolute best at Nationals, and Chase placed 5th in the entire nation for her solo! @cassi.syphard has some absolute superstars for kids! It was also an honor to be asked by @debi.vandenboom to help her with her large and small dramas again this year, and, as expected, the students in both dramas absolutely crushed it. Just don’t get me started on the drama judges at Nationals this year either… 😐

This could very well have been my last year being a Fine Arts coach. If it was, I couldn’t have asked for a better two years of coaching. I saw God work and move, not only in and through the lives of countless students, but also in and through my life. Getting to coach these students and help them grow in and develop their gifts and talents has truly been fulfilling, and I can’t wait to see how God continues to use these kids…both in and outside of this incredible ministry called Fine Arts. 🙏🏾 by @peter_moses

What. A. Ride. First year ever being in the Celebration of Christmas at @dreamcitychurch, and it couldn’t have been better! 🙌🏾 I can’t thank @littleolebrooke @kristianjean @mekenasparks and @jacobngrass enough for all the incredible opportunities they gave me in the show! Being in COC this year was so much fun and such a massive blessing, and it’s amazing to think about how putting on a show like this where we’re all singing, acting, and dancing (as well as laughing like a psycho, in my case 😂) can bring people to Jesus. Thank you to everyone who helped bring “The Greatest Show In AZ” to life, as well as everyone who came to see it! Lastly, a special shoutout to everyone in the cast and crew who had to put up with me being absolutely drenched in sweat night in and night out. “Mr. Elfie” was putting in that work! 😈😂 taken in Dream City Church by @peter_moses
