Some kids run from the camera. This one runs straight at it — grinning the whole way.

Give a child in Bali or Indonesia an open beach and zero screens, and this is what happens: pure, loud, barefoot joy. No performance, no self-consciousness — just the simple thrill of being seen and chased and laughed with.

It's easy to forget how much fun outdoor play still is when you're not selling it as a "wellness activity." Here, it's just Tuesday afternoon.

Woke up at 5:30am for this. Worth it.

The X-E5 doesn't need any help finding color like this — the film simulations do the heavy lifting straight out of camera. Swipe through and watch the same sky go from deep blue to burning orange in the space of twenty minutes.

Sanur mornings hit different when the boats are still out and the surfers are already up. What's the earliest you've ever gotten up for a shot?

She wakes before sunrise. By the time most of us check our first email, she's already sold half her stock.

Muara Angke market, just after dawn. This is where a lot of Jakarta's food starts its day — watermelon sliced by hand, snacks fried over open flame, deals made in rupiah that would barely cover a coffee back home.

A street vendor here might earn in a full day what some of us make in under an hour. Same sun, same 24 hours — very different math.

I didn't come here to feel guilty about it. I came to see it clearly, and to make images that don't look away.

📷 Fujifilm X-E5, shot into the low morning light — that's what gives the scene its warmth and depth.

Speed is not only in F1, also in street photography. And the tools you need to capture it, a Fujifilm x-E5, fast shutter speed, autofocus tracking, and press the shutter on the right moment.

In the back of an alley guitar player just stand in front of you playing to get money. If he is bad or good does not matter he only stops when he get the money. Sometime it’s difficult black and white or color. Maybe we should make a competition black and white and color in one picture. Makes life more simpler. #potopotokota #plus62jumpstreet #street_vision_infinity #jupstreet #shuttertrips by @peter_van_heulen

Sometime we feel so happy and grateful we have the gear and the opportunity to travel. Specialy when we use the best backpacks for photographers to travel, f-stop thank@you for making this beautiful powerhouse of a backpack. #travel #photogear #bali #streetphotography #landscapephotography by @peter_van_heulen

Every evening the light turns gold and the nets come out - patched by hand, thread by thread, while kites chase the last of the sun. Bali’s coastline never runs out of quiet stories.
Setiap malam cahaya berubah menjadi keemasan dan jaring-jaring dikeluarkan - ditambal dengan tangan, benang demi benang, sementara layang-layang mengejar cahaya matahari terakhir. Garis pantai Bali tidak pernah kehabisan kisah-kisah yang tenang.#bali #streetphotography #goldenhour #fujifilm_xseries #balilife by @peter_van_heulen

During hard work in the harbour unloading a boat. There is no time for a break@just drink water and go on working. No luxury coffee or cake. Just work. #street_avengers #streetphoto_asia #unexp_collective #street_macadam #progressivestreet by @peter_van_heulen

Not everybody has an easy office job. Some people work hard in the harbour making a living. How hard the work is, in Indonesia we keep on smiling. #streetphotography

Do not take life for granted. Work hard and appreciate what you have. These people in the harbour work hard. Outside in the sun try to survive. And still they smile. #streetphotography
