❤️ Valentine’s season in Bucks County ❤️

Really excited to be drumming on this special concert with Amy Tefft Spencer and Keith Spencer — an evening of music that celebrates love in all its forms.

Playing with a swinging band of longtime friends:
Peter Andrew Hilliard (piano/MD), Michael DiFebbo (bass), Sam E King (guitar), and Tim Vattima (sax/flute).

Come hang, reminisce, and enjoy a great night of music.

September 19, 20, and 21, our friends at @resonanceworks present the Live Premiere of our “Hero Songs!”

These pieces were originally written for digital premiere produced by @decameronopera , directed by Kathy Wittman of @ballsquarefilms and performed by artists including Grammy Winner @kikislacksoprano , one of the nation’s most celebrated Sopranos. This month, Resonance Works Reson8 Vocal Octet will perform them in person, interwoven with work by remarkable composers like Joel Thompson, Rosephayne Powell, Damian Geter, Reena Esmail, Melissa Dunphy, and more.

Together, the songs form a unified musical journey that amplifies the many dimensions of what it means to be a hero in today’s world

When they carve the marble of tomorrow, what will be revealed?

🎭 Vocal scores of three bold and entertaining operas by composer Peter Hilliard and librettist Matt Boresi are now available from Swirly Music: THE FILTHY HABIT, THE LAST AMERICAN HAMMER, and CIRCE ON SUPERIOR.

Hilliard & Boresi are among the most dynamic voices in contemporary American opera, known for their sharp wit, emotional depth, and fearless storytelling. Their works have been performed across the country by leading singers and companies, earning acclaim for blending humor, poignancy, and cultural insight.

THE FILTHY HABIT—a finalist in the National Opera Association chamber opera competition—has received 11 productions and was featured in an Emmy-nominated PBS segment. THE LAST AMERICAN HAMMER, a bluegrass-infused opera, has been staged by UrbanArias, Pittsburgh Opera, and others. Their latest, CIRCE ON SUPERIOR, premiered in Minnesota in Fall 2024.

🎼 Browse all three scores—plus choral music by Peter Hilliard—at swirlymusic.org.
