It’s my first year growing these tulips in my garden, and I’m hooked.

ā€˜Rainbow Parrot’ is on another level. The colors don’t just show up… they unfurl. Purple into red, yellow into green, even some blue and orange. Every bloom feels different, and somehow more dramatic than the last.

One of the most unique tulips I’ve ever seen, and easily the biggest showstopper in the garden right now.

If you’re planning ahead for fall planting, this one’s a must. Limited, exclusive, and absolutely worth it.

TULIP PLANTING GUIDE

FALL PLANTING → SPRING SUCCESS 🌷

Tulips are my favorite spring-flowering bulbs to plant in the fall, and they’re always the highlight of my garden when spring arrives. I love planting them close together, almost like eggs in an egg carton, for a big, full display of color.

Haven’t ordered your bulbs yet? You still have time to get your favorites. Already ordered? Great! Dutch Grown ships your bulbs when it’s the perfect time to plant in your area.

It’s fall, which means it’s the perfect time to refresh your planters with hardy annuals. šŸ‚

For my planter refresh with Van Wilgen’s, I’m going a little unexpected with my fall color palette: rose pinks, purples, greens, and creamy off-whites instead of the traditional oranges and yellows.

I’m also switching up the usual thriller, filler and spiller formula this fall. And one of my favorite unexpected ingredients? Freshly cut Limelight hydrangea blooms added in for a little extra drama.

I’m sharing all of my favorite tips throughout the reel, so watch all the way through to see how I put everything together and how you can create a fall planter that feels full, layered, and a little unexpected.

What colors are your favorite for fall plants?

As the rain and wind roll in this weekend, it’s the perfect time to plan your next garden move. For fall, do you love classic autumn colors like yellow, orange, and red or do you like something a little unexpected like a white, green, pink, and purple combination? by @peterhschaller

The biggest dahlia I’ve ever grown, Allen’s Tsunami. Just a reminder, if you haven’t already, cut any flowers on your plants before this weekend’s wind and rain. You’re not just saving the blooms, the plant will be less top heavy as well. That will help it move more easily in the stormy conditions. by @peterhschaller

September is when we really want to keep our beautiful dahlias blooming, and two simple things make a big difference: cut deep and deadhead often. 🌸

When you’re cutting dahlias, don’t be afraid to go in about an arm’s length. Especially this time of year, a deep cut encourages the plant to send up more long, strong stems instead of putting all its energy into the blooms that are already there.

And don’t forget deadheading! Removing spent flowers signals the plant to keep producing rather than putting energy into seed production. The more you cut, the more flowers you can enjoy.

So keep filling those vases, keep cutting, and enjoy every moment of dahlia season. We hope you’re having an incredible season in your garden!

Have a dahlia question? Drop it in the comments. We’d love to hear what you’re growing and help however we can.
