Our @avidcnc Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) upgrade just got REAL. 🤯

The hardware has officially arrived, and before we start tearing into the machine, we wanted to give you a look at everything that comes in the kit. It’s always exciting seeing a project go from a pile of parts to a fully working system.

We’ve already upgraded our machine with an Avid red drawer system, a modular spoilboard, and our own 3D printed spoilboard bracket and bolt system to get ready for this moment. Now it’s finally time to start the ATC installation!

Huge thanks to the team at Avid CNC for making this collaboration possible. We can’t wait to show you the entire installation process, the first automatic tool changes, and of course… put it to work making products.

Sometimes all it takes is one great prototype to restore your confidence. 😎

Huge shoutout to @littlebugwoodworking for absolutely crushing this CNC test. This is exactly the level of quality we’ve been searching for, and we’re incredibly grateful to Braden for taking the time to machine and assemble this prototype. The craftsmanship speaks for itself.

This is a big step toward getting our 3D printer stands back into production. We still have more manufacturers testing our designs, so stay tuned as we compare results and share the journey.

Never trust anyone when they tell you they can do something or are good at something. Make them show you. These are some cut parts from our last manufacturer that we had to fire. It’s a good thing that nothing was ever “finished” and shipped. What if your tools actually encouraged you to modify them? 🤯

That’s one of the biggest reasons we’re excited about the Morpho UV printer.

Instead of locking users into a closed ecosystem, Morpho is embracing open source. They’re giving makers the ability to create custom jigs, develop accessories, experiment with new workflows, and build on the platform instead of working around it.

As makers ourselves, we love seeing companies trust their community to innovate. We can’t wait to see what people create once these printers are in workshops around the world.

Most people think of Gork’s GoodFilla as a wood filler… but we’ve been using it to smooth out our 3D prints too, and the results have been fantastic! 😎

It spreads easily, sands beautifully, and makes it so much easier to get that clean, professional finish before painting. This has become one of those workshop products we keep reaching for over and over again.

If you’re into woodworking, 3D printing, or building creative projects, it’s definitely worth checking out.

This might be one of the most exciting maker tools we’ve seen in years. 🤯

Watching a full-color photo print directly onto almost any surface still doesn’t feel real. But what really impressed us wasn’t just the print quality—it was Morpho’s philosophy.

Instead of locking everything down, they’ve built this printer with the maker community in mind. Open software. Open ink cartridges. Design specs for custom jigs and accessories. Expansion options for advanced users. It feels like they actually want people to build on top of what they’ve created.

There is way too much to cover in one Reel, so this is just Part 1. We’ve got a bunch of creative projects planned along with a deep dive into how this machine actually works.
