...Außer in den Büchern war ich niemandem begegnet, der mein Ich, meine Grenzenlosigkeit hinnehmen konnte. Daraus resultierte mein unermüdliches Suchen. Aber immer bin ich es selber, die mich hinnehmen muss. In einem beliebigen Menschen oder in einem beliebigen Bild des Tages. Oder der Nacht. Ist die Liebe unerfüllbar, wenn auch die Körper ineinander sind. Ist sie auch in jenem lebendig tödlichen Moment unerfüllbar. In dem Moment der Geburt. In dem Moment des Todes.Sie ist auch übertragbar. Man kann die Liebe auf verschiedene Augenblicke, auf verschiedene Menschen, auf verschiedene Städte, Straßen, Hügel übertragen. Je großer die Phantasie des Einzelnen, desto größer ist seine Liebe, Unerfüllbarer. A brief rain shower and suddenly the world looks like an old filmIn the garden of the Städelfrom my series Two Hours (Zwei Stunden) .What at first glance looks like coarse film grain is actually also the fine, pearling rain on the windowpane. From here, the view stretches into the garden, across the street, toward the Main and the silhouettes of the city skyline. The raindrops on the glass transform the scene, almost as if a filter had settled over the moment.But perhaps that’s exactly what we always do:we see the world through our own filters.One single motif can give rise to countless images, depending on who is looking, and with what feeling. This one is mine.
