Black roses bloom where red ones die,
Petals bruised beneath a paper sky.
I wear lace like armor, thin and tight,
A gothic valentine in borrowed light.

Candy hearts with scripted lies.
“Forever yours” in pastel sighs.
But mine are inked in ash and coal,
Cracked porcelain around a hollow soul.

They kiss with mouths of sugared air,
Practice love like truth is there.
Silk and smiles, rehearsed and sweet
While broken glass line every heartbeat.

I bring no roses dipped in red,
Only black ones, softly dead.
Their thorns don’t hide behind perfume;
They tell the truth of love’s dark bloom.

Because I know the quiet sting
Of never being quite the thing
That poets praise in candlelight.

But black roses grow in ruined ground,
In every “lost” that’s never found.
And broken hearts that no one see,
Try to survive with every beat.

For I am not the light in the dark
I am the echo after the spark,
The wilted bloom, the stem of thorns,
The velvet night before the dawn.

So let the bright bouquets fade and decay,
Where vows once said break anyway.

I’ll keep my garden cold and true,
Where love is dark but still it grew.
If I am “less” in daylight’s eyes,
A smudge beneath their perfect skies,

Then let me root where others froze

Happy Birthday to my fur-child! 🐾💛

5 years of having her “Wag if you Love Me”… and honestly, that’s pretty much ALL she does. 😂🐶

My Churro Puppy , I am so ridiculously lucky and blessed to have her in my life. She is the sweetest, funniest, most precious little doggie, and somehow she makes my life infinitely better just by being in it.

She has given me cuddles, chaos, endless laughs, and enough fur to furnish an entire second dog. 😂

Thank you for loving me unconditionally, following me everywhere, judging me silently, and making sure I’m never allowed to eat anything alone. 😆

My life is happier, warmer and so much more full of love because of you.

I love you more than words can say, my little Churro. 💛🐾

“15 minutes’ notice, zero rehearsal, one dance together… and apparently that was enough. 😂🔥”

When Rakesh, an amazing instructor from Bangalore, asked me to dance with him at the Golden Bird Open, I had 15 minutes to process the fact that I was about to go on stage with absolutely NO practice. 😂

We had literally danced together once before, and he casually told me, “It’s a slow song.”
I would LOVE to know what definition of “slow” he has in his book! 🤣

But honestly, this was SO much fun. 💛
There’s something incredibly exciting about just trusting your partner, listening to the music and going for it.....especially when your partner is such a talented, musical and ridiculously fun dancer.

Rakesh, thank you for asking me to burn the floor with you 🔥
15 minutes, one practice dance, zero plans… and somehow, one hell of a showcase! 😜
