The Stalos knob and pull from our Petra Fundamentals line are cast from hand-made marble models that have a deliberately rough, carved-out texture recalling mid-century sculpture. They're basics, but more interesting, more artistic, more special.

So subtle and chic: Henry Wilson's Tab series draws references from ski chalets of the 1960s and '70s, and the large flat surface makes for a generous contrast with any cupboard surface. There's a knob, a medium handle, a large handle, and an appliance pull. Each one is sand-cast and rumble-finished.

The Batlló Butterfly lever door handle in the wild! It was designed by the late Modernist Spanish architect Antonio Gaudí in the early 1900s for his Barcelona building Casa Batló, and in 1978, the Spanish furniture company BD Barcelona began faithfully reproducing it. The Batlló Butterfly is made from solid polished brass and is engraved with Gaudí's signature.

The Vala collection by Australian master metalsmith @v.brokkr take the form of a cast-copper cylinder that's scooped out on top and filled with colorful, high-gloss vitreous enamel. The process of firing the enamel into the center is similar to the process of glazing ceramics, where each piece acquires its own unique character. Link in bio. by @petrahardware

After initially creating the Block Knob for her own kitchen, artist and @blockshoptextiles co-founder @hopiehill turned the design into a full suite for Petra, including bathroom fixtures and these matching cabinet or drawer pulls that work just as well in a kitchen or living room. Initially hand-sculpted in clay, the pulls are hand-cast in polished brass at an L.A. foundry. Every piece is 100% unique! by @petrahardware

Our new Ricciolo series of abstract knobs by @suna.bonometti — an Italian jewelry and object designer based in New York City — are inspired by ribbons or locks of hair. (Ricciolo means curl, swirl, or twist in Italian.) The knobs can be oriented in any direction and can be pulled by putting your finger through a loop, or by grasping with two fingers. Each is cast in solid bronze in the Diamond District of New York and carefully finished in the designer's studio in Queens. These are knobs as art, and they can transform a simple cabinet or furniture piece into something infinitely more special. by @petrahardware

Designing a bathroom or powder room that’s in need of an artful moment? British furniture studio @six_dots_design's first hardware collection, Gesture, was conceived much like the rest of its creations (seen in images 3-7): by hand-sculpting metal in freeform organic shapes inside its London workshop. Crafted from solid brass rod, each piece is shaped through a subtle balance of heat and pressure.

Included are a bath towel rail, a hand towel rail, a toilet roll holder, and an oversize hook for hanging robes and towels. The hook can also be used in entrance halls, kitchens, or any other room where you need extra storage.

One thing we discovered while photographing our new Petra Fundamentals collection is how much these pieces change throughout the day. Morning light tends to emphasize the polish and reflectivity of the brass, while afternoon shadows can make the forms feel more dramatic and graphic, as seen here in the studio of @dannykaplanstudio. Pictured are the 6" Russo pull and the Russo knob/hook, and the Stalos knob and pull.
