📚𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖:
It all started with the banter between the main characters. Amelie and Ian gelled great together, had great dynamics, helped each other’s growth and were the kind of soulmates you admire on the screen, watching your favourite romcom couple.

The only thing hindering them? Timing. Their timing was crucially off.

The double timeline was structured perfectly to have me on the edge of my seat: every time we reached some kind of epiphany or conclusion in the past, we were thrust into the present, where our couple struggled to come to terms with their feelings, new revelations, secrets emerging as they tried (and tried) to untangle themselves and their feelings.

So, the slow burn? It was addictive!

I fell in love with Ian’s charm the first encounter he'd appeared in. He was witty, handsome and seemed intuitive and just a slightly bit obsessive about Amelie from the get-go. Amelie was stuck and battling inner demons without her even realizing the true scale of it. She was set up to be sometone from a small age, and when it all collapsed around her, she really had no one to help her get up. I admired Ian trying to help her without ever being pushy or selfish about his reasons. It was clear from the start the friendship wasn’t sustainable, the ever-pragmatic love-hater Ian and the girl who had her wedding planned out in every detail was in trouble unless one, or both of them realized the other was worth it.

And boy, did they do that! As I mentioned, the angsty parts were prominent, but let me tell you, these idiots knew how to have hot and smutty moments, oh, and the tender and loving way they cared about one other was *chef’s kiss*.

This was my first book by the author and I keep thinking about how well-written and artfully crafted it really was! I haven’t read an indie book quite like it in a long time, I’m sure others will come to the same conclusion too! taken in Hungary by @petraperusesbooks

🥃 WHISKY BUSINESS - ELLIOT FLETCHER 🥃

April and Mal's story is out in the wild and I strongly encourage you to grab a copy of Whisky Business.
I am maybe somewhat biased but Elliot's work is truly a gift to me and I am continuously elated by the fact that I got a chance to read this little gem early!
I still have book hangover and am planning to re-read Whisky Business very soon.

My full review is on Goodreads, but I saved the best parts of it for the 'gram.

My favourite book to release September is already here for your viewing pleasure, ladies and gentlemen. Let's not kid ourselves - it was one of my most anticipated reads in the second half of 2026 and honestly, it was a fully validated prediction on my side!
I knew it even before I read a single snippet of the story that I would simply love it.
Why, yes, thank you for asking I really did, for the disappointment of my employer, as sadly I did not achieve big things at my workplace because I was fully emerged in the book.
It took me only a couple of hours to devour Mercy and Grant's story.
It was everything I hoped it would be - angsty in the best way, romantic with grand gesture galore, emotional with tears glinting in my eyes and funny in a snarky, witty way.
I usually won't go for an amnesia trope, as they can feel reaaally tacky and overdone with the dramatics. I was a bit afraid of this happening, BUT ALAS, I should have know I'd love it - as I do every new release of Karla's. She became one of my most read authors and a trusty pick if I'm in need of leaving the outside world behind and get lost in some delicious romance.
So let's set the scene: we have a very confused patient, Mercy, waking up on a hospital bed, with a head trauma. She is being assessed when in walks Grant, totally out of his elements, claiming to be her husband. The nurse reluctantly mentioning that Mercy actually can't recall the correct date. And the realization that almost a whole year is missing from her memory bank.

A year, where she seemingly went from a grieving sister to marrying her late brother's broody best friend. It sure as heck seems at first glance that that wasn't a love match, even the marriage itself sounds absurd... but the ghost of a ring still dents her finger.

Fall is truly upon us once the romantasy/paranormal books get published and what way to better kick it off than a new Laurie Gilmore book? Honestly, I have not picked up any of her books yet, but I traveled on a train with someone who did and they very much enjoyed their read as far as I could tell.
Sophia Travers dives into a new territory with her new novela, perfect to pick up one evening if it finally gets cold.
Morgan Elizabeth's release also sounds like a delight with a grumpy sunshine pairing and enemies to lovers in a cozy romcom setting.
Julie Olivia's Love Felt Like This was soooo hyped on my feed I fear I have the highest expectations for this release and her If It Makes You Happy book. Both I haven't read just yet, but loved their covers! Perfect fall vibes, no notes!

❓ #qotd What's one thing you're looking forward this week?

So this is really big news if you're an EJ Blaise stan/fan/stalker like I am: Better than Revenge comes out TOMORROW and this is her (I believe) first traditionally published book! I was lucky enough to attach myself to it early on. Which honestly wasn't a hardship on my side as I was a little dog wagging its tail every time any art, quote or juuust a little mention about the story and its main characters was popping up my feed.
And I wasn't disappointed with this story!
Erin is one of those romance authors who's yet to write something I don't devour instantly, so it wasn't a big surprise that I gelled with the characters.
Better Than Revenge's MCs were two college kids, falling into a (let's say pretend) relationship to spite the FMC's cheating ex. Add in some golden retriever energy and biiiig black cat vibes from a brokenhearted girl, viciously attached found family dynamics and swimmer drama and you've concocted more than 400 pages of sugar rush.
Let's start with my biggest take:
I loved Heath. Besides the fact that I was associating him to Heath Ledger, but I guess his willingess and fun loving persona kinda matched the MMC's in 10 Things I Hate About You, so we'll take it.
He was a top yearner, quietly adimiring Daniela from afar for years. He was vocal about his crush, so much so that all his friends knew who she was and what he felt about her. I admired his tenacity regards to securing his dream girl, even if it came with the price of faking it into existence.
Heath was attentive, caring and a soft teddy bear, with a tough outer shell. His tattoos and sheared hair made him look like a badass surfer, but his inside was all gooey and goofy.

Sophia Travers has a new novella with a vampire x slayer dynamic which I'm quite excited about. The biting and her being his food source sound like the best of the paranormal romance tropes. And the extra little tidbit about her being his fated mate, but him keeping it secret adds a little extra-extra to the story in my eyes!

Gold Rush was my most anticipated book in the Kensingtons: NExt Gen series, and I'm so ready to have these two battle it out with witty banter and delicious tension!

𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘴:
For as long as anyone can remember, Florence (Rory) Kensington and Flynn Parks have contentiously coexisted in their respective roles. Rory, as the responsible, poised heiress determined to make a difference. Flynn, as the carefree life of the party who considers having fun a full-time profession. Hello August, please bring some rain and no more heatwaves!
Europe is suffering right now, as do I. It's been almost no rain for the last two months, instead there's been heat and humidity. It's too hot to stay outside and too hot to stay inside. So, as you can see I tolerate this current heatwave particularly well...
Some hot new releases are also upon us, with a few of them bringing the heat to our lives! 👉 𝘛𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮!
I have a few ARCs to read& review (and honestly I need to write some reviews for July releases too) so hopefully there'll be enough content for me to post.
Additionally to wishing for rain, I really hope work will quiet down this month, so I can concentrate on reading - even if existing is challenging.

Today's the release day for one of the most anticipated romance releases of the year: Lost and Found by Tarah DeWitt. No joke, this book broke NetGalley and it'll supposedly break you too.
Bal Khabra's Embrace is gracing our shelves, too, within the highly praised Off the Ice series - coach's daughter x hockey player? Sign me up!
I've received an ARC of E. Salvador's release Let's Be Forever, you should expect a review from me this week!

𝐀𝐋𝐈 𝐇𝐀𝐙𝐄𝐋𝐖𝐎𝐎𝐃 - 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐄 & 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐄
🎉 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐈 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖𝐒
It's been a while since I picked up a fantasy romance, they are simply not my go-to books. I love romance, I loved fantasy as a kid and I like romantasy but they can get me hooked so deeply that I forget to eat or sleep. Like with these two.
I stayed up too late, had little impact to show at work and read these two back to back without pause.
I knew before I picked up Bride that I'll love it. Ali Hazelwood has this kind of power over me, I fall in love with her writing style over and over again. Bride had enemies to lovers, arranged marriage/marriage of convenience, fated mates. I had a soft spot for Lowe, with him being the Alpha, caring for his pack, sister and for Misery.
Misery was a fun character in my opinion, she was headstrong and funny, but determined and not so easily scared. She cared deeply about people she loved and was an interesting addition to the pack. I did not pick up on the final twist in the book, so I was kept on my toes the whole time.
Mate as the second boo had great potential, with the reluctant fated mates, the forced proximity and the hybrid person tale, but ultimately I was able to pick up on the main problem with our heroine from the start. The added drama of the cult was an interesting choice, but not my favourite part of the book. I liked worldbuilding in the story as we've seen not the full picture in the first book. In Mate, the FMC was thrown into a totally different world than she was used to. But Serena was incredible naive in some aspects and was a bit too stubborn for her own good. Koen was a stern goofball, I lived for his humour and commanding presence. Him dragging his feet about love was a bit too much for me, but I understood his reasons. Their relationship was also more reluctant and less straightforward as it could have been with a bit more honesty.
All in all: Bride was a total highlight so far this year for me! Mate followed a less highlighted path, but for sure I had a great time reading it! taken in Bookstagram by @petraperusesbooks

Hi, this is me again, showing you all the books I've gotten more than a month ago. Don't worry, I AGAIN almost forgot about them 100%. But taking photos for your friends to show off your new beauties actually pays off when you have a brain fog and zero creative juices to come up with posts.
So lucky me and lucky you. Here are the most recent books the postman brought me:
Karla Sorensen will be releasing her Wilder Family books one by one, so naturally, since these are the ones that most readily available for me to buy I'll buy them one by one. She's one of the authors whose books I can always just pick up and immediately know I'll like them.
Elliot Fletcher's Macabe brothers have their last installation sitting prettily on my shelf. One for the Road joins its brothers just like that, as I've already read the ARC of this one and I'm hesitant to pick up the physical copy so as not to break the spine. Anyone have trophy books like this or am I just insane?
Next we have double the trouble from two series. Both of them are very spur of the moment kinda impulsive buys. But the Stephanie Archer book were offered at a great price, but I already read and loved them. Meanwhile the Lucy Score books had me like "Why not?". Which is honestly quite bold of me. I usually only buy physical copies of books I know I'll love or already read.

Well June, you've been chaotic. I'm going to pretend you've been productive on different levels, not headache inducing. To cut a long story short: I've read 7 books this month, which might be the most in a month this year. I've totally fallen in love with several stories and I just know I'll be picking a few of them up again for a re-read. Namely: Elliot Fletcher's new release, One for the Road. Ali Hazelwood's Bride series were also a big hit for me, inducing a few late night reading sessions.
And those two books were also the reason why I was able to detect a water pipe leak in our kitchen at 1:30 am on an otherwise calm night.
So the last 2.5 weeks was spent in total chaos, with a lot of not anticipated home reno days and junk food.
This also meant that I'm a bit behind with my posts I planned to shoot, write and edit. Hence, only bringing this new releases post just today.
I have three ARCs this month I know of, so I want to make content for those. I'm also really looking forward to picking up the new Jodi McALister and Meghan Quinn books. My little eyes also spied some new-to-me authors, whose books look intriguing, especially Married with Benefits and Her Advantage sound catchy and totally something I'd love plot-wise.
At the end of July I'll be OoO, and during my holiday week I tend to pick up on average 3 books - I'm already thinking about what I should pack.

Next we have Cowboy, Take Me Away which is a sweet YA cowboy romance, if you're looking for a nice autumn book - look no further. The story mixes he falls first and childhood friends to lovers tropes, which if you ask me sounds charmingly cute.

💖CHLOE LIESE - LOVE INTEREST
Chloe Liese has a new release coming early next year, telling the love story of a librarian and a writer, with some added tension and the forced proximity of having to work together.

💖CARA BASTONE - I'VE GOT YOU
Cara Bastone announced her next release, with some single dad yearning and an accidental caretaker finding themself under one roof.

💖LAUREN ASHER - WISH YOU WERE NOT HERE
Lauren Asher's next release sounds like the plot for the best romantic comedy: a second chance romance with a former couple both going on their called off wedding's honeymoon. The drama!!

💖LETIZIA LORINI - ENEMIES TO LAWYERS
And finally a really anticipated release from Letizia Lorini, who takes up on one of my all time favourite tropes of competing lawyers falling in love, sprinkled together with some rivalry and of course.. Fake dating!
