#45friday !!!!!!! Pick a carry comp, any carry comp!

I have this luck that a lot of my most special pistols and mil-surps tend to “fall in my lap” that is the case with the three pistols below… I am a self declared “comp whore”. I love shooting comped and ported pistols. These are the ones I have that are designed for carry, and I’ve done just that with all three… All three fit perfectly Ty in my @andrewscustomleather speed scabbard.

On Top, from @alchemy1911 the combat #combatlimitedcarry restomod! Alchemy is on fire with their restomods, and this one is an amazing throw back, and one I consider myself lucky to own! Eli goes hard on these… A1 frame scallops, round slide top grooves, verticals slide serrations, perfect hard chrome finish, and the ACW quality, and swag make it a total score. I literally found this pistol at @atlanticguns1950 sitting in the back of their ACW/Cabot display case almost one year after release!!!

Second, a Les Baer Prowler made around 1997. It’s a commander with a stub weight cone compensator on a LB match barrel. It’s hard fit and feels like all my other Baers… What’s really different is that it’s built on a Para P14 double stack frame and holds 14+1 which feed reliably. It’s one AMAZING shooter! I called LBC a couple years ago when I got it for some history, and actually spoke to Les and he said it’s the only prowler he made with a commander slidewith a comp.

Last and not least we have a Briley Carry Comp made on Les Baer frame #898 (from his Rock Island days). This pistol was crafted by Claudio Salassa. Build quality is amazing and its design is extremely unique. This thing shoots like a 9mm, and at the range I always use 10rd McCormicks as it shoots SOOO FLAT, that you can just blast a 1” hole in paper rapid fire. In fact everyone that’s shot it has stated that they cannot believe it’s a .45ACP. Got this for a steal from the infamous “Miami Vice scammer” aka Stuart Palmer when he needed money for his “sick daughter”… paid $2k ish, believe it or not. Oh and grips are Spegals…

They’re all very different and damn irreplaceable. Each has a place and purpose in my 1911 portfolio. Anyways, what’s your favorite pick? by @pew_pics

You got D? As in M1D? #sniperrifle #wwii 1943 receiver and July 1952 barrel stamp/Arsenal conversion to “D” spec. Sat on the Arsenal rack until 1990’s until the CMP sold it to the owner that I got it from... totally gorgeous, historical, functional art... plus with the off bore axis scope, it feels like sighting artillery!

Happy #45friday everybody! Posting up my blued beauty, @alchemy1911 Prime Elite with smooth ebony Grips, and ball cuts… my first Alchemy and one of my favs. This gun shoots like a hot rod and looks as good as it looks! @dirtyharry_gungroup has great taste and owns this gun’s literal twin. #45cuzshootingtwiceissilly by @pew_pics

Finally, my fav day of the week! #45friday! This is a Gen 1, 1937 @coltfirearms Single Action Army, in the proper length (7.5”), in the proper caliber (.45LC). It has a light turn mark and a little wear on the cylinder, but she’s a gem! #45cuzshootingtwiceissilly by @pew_pics

For 45 Friday we’re rolling out this 1926 Colt Commercial Model 1911. At 100 years old, this pistol remains in the perfect condition to shoot and not feel too worried about banging it up.

These pre war commercial Colt 1911s are also some of the finest examples you’ll ever find when it comes to finishing, tolerances, and overall build quality.

A full write up with historical details will drop once the Colt factory letter arrives in the mail 📬

#ACWednesday … posting up my Quantico “no rail”! It’s a prime elite with the DLC everything finish, ball cuts and some OEM Quantico grips. Such a gorgeous, well built combat 1911. Felt very lucky that this one fell into my lap, so to speak. It was way too cool to pass up! #custom1911 #45becauseshootingtwiceissilly by @pew_pics

A very special Throwback Thursday 📖

I’m not sure who Emil Reef was, but I can tell you he had excellent taste in American made firearms and took exceptional care in maintaining this 1922 vintage pistol.

This is the very much famous Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless chambered in 32 ACP, complete with original box, ammunition, and a portion of Emil’s life story.

I can tell you he found himself employed in Ohio throughout 1937, at least. But I was unable to come up with more details on him beyond that. Regardless, this is the exact kind of thing I enjoy most about collecting firearms. Emil took phenomenal care of this 1903 for many decades and I’ll continue to do so in his honor.

This Fallout Friday, we will be talking about America's Pistol in the Fallout Universe. Games, such as Fallout New Vegas, introduced an entire generation of young firearms enthusiasts to the 1911 and other classic and vintage American firearms. This Colt Government Classic is one of those amazing collaborations we were a part of some years back; a special gift from a Son to his Father.

Let’s take it back to 1981 with this CZ-75 🇨🇿

Complete with original box, factory test target, owners manual, and original magazines, this falls into my favorite category of time capsule guns. Whether or not it can shoot the wings off this fly has yet to be determined, but I appreciate him landing there just in time for the photo opportunity.

S&W M1917 shipped Dec 1917. This one may become my favorite in my small collection. It certainly has made me more aware of prewar models. There’s something about old iron, I can’t describe it, but they are special. by @pew_pics
