📚Recap from our first educational meeting yesterday!

Three things to set up now:

1 - Budget - split your take home pay 50/30/20 (needs, wants, savings) and move 20% of your paycheck to savings before you spend anything.

2- Save - Check your savings account APY. Under 3%? Compare the top high-yield accounts. Make a specific goal for your savings.

3 - Build two funds - An emergency funds of $500 - $1,000 to start, and sinking funds for upcoming costs like insurance, parking passes, or holiday gifts.

Look out for our free Excel budget spreadsheet in the Flare group chat soon. Excel is free to use with your JMU student account.
