It's already been three weeks since the 2026 NYC Pride March, and we're so grateful we have these amazing photos by @mcpphoto.png to remember it by!We're not exaggerating when we say this was our best March group yet. The day ran super smoothly, everyone was in fantastic spirits, and the weather wasn't too hot to bear, which is always a plus.We even received an email from someone visiting NYC from North Carolina for Pride weekend who shared:"To the free mom hugs marcher in the Pride Parade: I just hope you can tell this marcher how much she meant to me this weekend. She was carrying a 'free mom hugs' sign and I stepped up to the rail and waved her over. I can't even remember what she looked like, she was just anyone and everyone’s mom in that moment. It was only a few seconds but I will never forget this hug and her voice in my ear. I was already tearing up as she embraced me and afterwards I was sobbing as another marcher handed me a carnation."Never underestimate the power of vocal and visible pride, acceptance, and LOVE. That's what we're all about. We hope to see you on the pavement next year! Subscribe to our newsletter to be one of the first to know when it's time to sign up to march in 2027 (🔗 in b!o). 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ by @pflagnyc

Choose your fighter for Nonbinary Awareness Week 2026! 🥊With multiple nonbinary staff members, we know there’s an incredible diversity of people who identify as nonbinary. While we may use varying pronouns and labels, outwardly express our genders in unique ways, and have different experiences with gender dysphoria/euphoria and transitioning, we all experience the joy of living our truth alongside the frustration that comes with being in a society obsessed with the gender binary.Ultimately, nonbinary folks are blazing a trail that will allow people of all genders to be less inhibited, more free, and more comfortable in the future. And we’ll keep shouting that from the rooftops until everyone else catches up. 🩷 by @pflagnyc

Today’s Supreme Court decision in B.P.J. is a heartbreaking ruling for transgender women and girls across the country who’ve asked for nothing more than to have the same opportunities as their peers. We reject many of the majority’s arguments and claims, and we maintain that the equality of transgender women and girls takes nothing away from, and in fact promotes, the equality of ALL women and girls.Every day, we see another effort to deny transgender people control over their own bodies, identities, and lives. This fight over sports is not and has never been about fairness—rather, it’s part of a coordinated effort to exclude trans people from public life and undermine civil rights laws more broadly.Despite this decision, we are grateful that New York City’s transgender protections still stand! From GENDA, which bans discrimination based on gender identity and expression, to NYC Public School Guidelines that allow kids to participate in PE and sports in accordance with their gender identity, New York will continue to fight for trans lives. At PFLAG NYC, we mourn this loss, and we will use it as fuel to keep fighting for the rights of all people to be themselves without fear of political interference. To the trans youth and families we serve: we see you, we love you, and we will continue to support you in every battle that’s yet to come. by @pflagnyc

🚨🏳️‍⚧️ EXCITING NEWS! 🏳️‍⚧️🚨In May, the DOJ issued a criminal grand jury subpoena to multiple NYC hospitals demanding the release of personal medical records of transgender youth. On June 2, several of the affected families, represented by ACLU, Lambda Legal, and NYCLU, filed a class action to prevent the release of information protected by doctor-patient privilege.Yesterday, a hearing was held on their motion for a temporary restraining order to block the disclosure of sensitive medical information. We are thrilled to share that a federal judge granted the temporary restraining order today to block the release of those records!PFLAG NYC and the families we serve are incredibly grateful to know that the lives of trans young people are being looked after and defended through the onslaught of painful federal attacks. All of our wins are worth celebrating, and we hope that you take a moment today to feel the joy of this one.Still, the fight continues. At a time when access to care for trans people remains at risk, New York City must step up to preserve and expand life-saving gender-affirming care for young people. We are calling on the City Council to retain current funding for gender-affirming care for youth and expand it to at least $15M this year. This investment would show New York City’s commitment to safeguarding trans youth and ensuring they can thrive through these federal assaults. We encourage you to contact your City Council member directly with this ask!No matter what, PFLAG NYC is here for you. With free support groups, coaching, workshops, and resources, know that we are working every day to ensure you and your loved ones are taken care of. 🩵 by @pflagnyc
