The bold progressive voice serving Northeast Georgia through Progress Georgia
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The film is now live and available to watch.

Southwest Georgia, in their own words. The bills that don't add up. The checks that are half gone before they land. The choices no family should have to make, and the people who made them anyway because no one gave them another option.

None of this is abstract. Utility bills, food assistance, healthcare, and the cost of getting by are shaped by decisions, and the people who make those decisions are chosen at the ballot box. Election Day is November 3rd. Make a plan to vote.
Southwest Georgia families deserve to see the receipts.

📲 If you live in Southwest Georgia, this is still your invitation: share your story at showusthereceipts.com. This film was built from this region's stories, and there are more to tell.

You can also watch the film over on our YouTube channel. Link in bio. by @pga_nega

Welcome back, to week 5 of the 50% project. We're halfway through our campaign and things are starting to pick up speed. This week's segment discusses one of the biggest barriers to combating child food insecurity: transportation.

People don't consider transportation an obstacle until the facts are laid out. Public transit isn't always available, not every family has a dependable vehicle, and not every community has close access to grocery options. These are some of the contributing factors affecting - seniors, rural communities, the disabled, and so many more of our neighbors.

How do we combat these conditions?

Well, solutions that have been implemented include - access to public transit, school-based food programs, mobile food distribution, and benefit enrollment support. We have the solutions and now it's time for us to start utilizing them.

Make sure you're following at PGA_MGA for the rest of the campaign and for more ways to help solve this crisis.

Some stories are scarier when you realize you've been in them all along, especially when you understand you may actually be one of the people responsible for the harm.

Somebody wrote the rules that make abuse easy to miss and hard to leave, and every one of us has had a hand in keeping them.

For resources for survivors and a list of Georgia organizations doing this work, visit the link in our bio.

Share this with someone who needs it.

Then show the survivors in your life that they aren't alone by making a plan to learn about who's on your ballot and where they stand. by @pga_nega

- Adrien Webber, the Sierra Club

There is a lot at stake in this November election for the future of Georgia in energy prices and environmental impact. Join us and let’s all make an impact on the future. by @pga_nega

As we close out this week we reflect on our earlier video. Child Food Insecurity is a measureable issue, which means it's solvable.

We know the contributing factors, we know the solutions, we have the resources, and it's time to put our money where our mouths are so we can put food where their mouths are.

Continue to follow along at PGA_MGA for the rest of the campaign and for more ways to help solve this crisis.

Keisha Lance Bottoms in the GA Governors Debate had solutions for the state of Georgia for things lime healthcare, affordable housing, minimum wage, FLOCK camera regulations, paying teachers, protecting our elections from Federal interference and standing up to the President.

Rick Jackson had a whole lot of nothing concrete in his vision for the state.

Early voting starts Tuesday, October 13th. Get all the information you need to know about all of the elections in your area at TheGeorgiaVoterGuide.com by @pga_nega

Welcome back, to week 4 of the 50% project. If you've been following along you know we've broken down the national spotlight, the Georgia spotlight, and the local level spotlight of child food insecurity. We spoke about how 1 in 2 children in Hancock County, Georgia are suffering from food insecurity.

In this video we break down the systemic barriers to accessing food such as - income, transportation, lack of school meals, and the Summer gap. These are all preventable and solvable, but it takes the community coming together.

Make sure you're following @ PGA_MGA for the whole campaign and for ways you can help solve this crisis.

Got thoughts on where Georgia is heading? Same. 🍑

The Impact Circle is where creators, community voices, and everyday influencers connect.

Whether you’re the person in your group chat who always knows what’s happening locally, or you just want to get sharper on the issues shaping our state, The Impact Circle is where we pull back the curtain.

We’re skipping the formal panels and dense policy speak for a real, interactive conversation with guest speakers who know these topics inside and out. You’ll get to chop it up directly with them and dive into two major issues shaping Georgia right now: Data Centers and The PSC (Public Service Commission)

You don’t need to be a policy expert or a social media influencer to join. You just need to care about your community, want the real facts, and be ready to talk about how we move the needle together.

Grab a drink, hop on Zoom on Oct. 15 at 6 PM, and let’s break down what’s actually happening. 📲
