A lil pride appreciation, ch. 9: I feel thankful for the sticky rituals that ask me to block my calendar for the end of June. Shakivla’s “add all the things & no one goes alone” communal pride itinerary reminds me how long our garden box between cement has been in bloom — 9 years.

This weekend was so tasty and soft; the feeling of community and connection makes my water droplet singular life feel apart of the ocean.

Pride weekend gives family reunion and reminds me that we’re apart of a queer expansive ecosystem, and you belong here even if you’ve had a riptide summer in place of a hot girl one. ✊🏾🌞🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ taken in New York, New York by @pgoodings

The mystical magic of Camp Olson is still caught in my throat as I shuffle through these lil snippets of Han & James’ wedding weekend. 🌲🌲🌲 the sun was in our eyes, the tears down our cheeks, and everyone cooked, cleaned, gamed, foraged for flowers and tended to the bonfire.

Witnessing the people you love most in this world get married feels like seeing a new color for the first time - awe inspiring and obvious - like it’s been there the whole time but seeing the newly saturated hue took my breath away.

This feeling of pride and sun-bathed euphoria felt nearly impossible to name…perhaps it was etched in soft chewable gold and eventually hardened into a sacred bronze memory.

So I’ll let the feeling linger a little longer here, with unending tears in my eyes. Such a treat to celebrate the love of Hanny and James on a sunflower Saturday in May.

Even after their wedding, I continue to see their love sprinkled in trail mix and sunflower fields and cut beer bottles and motorcycles and ice protests and late night conversations on the dock under the majesty of the moon. I see them in new stumbley puppies and bunches of bananas and games. Lots and lots of games.

The way so many of us would drive into the wilderness to be with you both, is an understatement. Cheers to my james and my hannypoo and all the latitudes of love ahead of you 💕

We surrendered to some wet puppy R&R time.

Moving slowly
feels delicate
paper thin

my eyelids are made of blood orange poppy petals;
as sturdy as butterfly wings
still heavy from the wet.

Steeped in watermelon agua fresca
cocooned in empanadas
I’m tasting salted limes and blackberries
slowly
reading one page at a time.

Trimming curled ends
and clipping dead branches
gives me a little more room for growth.

Letting new ideas take time.

Tempering impatience and
Cuddling close to tender friendships.

Feeling very much in transition this season.
I’ll continue to tuck blackberry seeds
In my gums between teeth

To remember my origins
To surrender to steering wheels
To trust the fertility of soil

To my darling B 💐

I’m buzzing just thinking of the honey ahead of us. Tomorrow, I get to officiate the marriage ceremony between my sweet Bryn & her big love, Ryan.

In 12 hours, we’ll powder our noses and tie ribbons around the necks of dahlias, and stuff tissues into our bustiers. I’ll get to remind our friends and family of your love story and how you taught me the freedom of carving our lives into trees; the earth holds our memories when we forget what it feels like to anticipate big days like tomorrow.

I hope the adrenaline crystallizes like honey, so we can blink slowly. I’ll remind us to pause and take in this singular moment that will only be lived once. I’m so giddy to to celebrate this harmonious love!

The whimsy, reckoning and rat-a-tat-tat of Pisces season pulls us diligently from winter’s throw blanket and into the budding bulbs of spring. Thankful for the creative friendships that make the feeling of spring arrive before the flowers are in bloom.

Eva’s birthday feels like a fairytale family reunion and a gallery of gold; her ability to capture the form and structure of a feeling give us melon smiles and giggley tears. She shared her Peach Pit artist images at the Overgrowth gallery in soho and so many of us fruits came out to celebrate her work. 🧚🏾‍♀️

James’ yearly visits feel like my brother coming home. Somehow we’ve known each other longer than we haven’t. He’s always teaching me about cohabitation and storing our old skins as archival treasures. I’m thankful we meet each other where we are today, and give pink matter forehead kisses to those teenagers who got us here. Thank you for being the ELIZABETH to my captain jack sparrow 😌♥️

Autumn’s birthday brought the epitome of Pisces to the party. She’s an adventurer, a magician, a host, a baker and so we snuggled on a couch and delighted ourselves by the art of illusion and tarot. She dazzles me like a chameleon on a bed of jewels, shape shifting to meet her environments while remaining entirely her own. ✨

Whenever my brain feels fleeting and floating too far forward, future thinking, these Pisces really know how to be mindful in the present moment.

a lil hosting for the holidays 🎄🕯️

December thoughts:

*We got a real tree for the first time & no one peed on it. (Success)

*I really love cooking for family and friends even when I struggle to feel the appropriate time to keep something on the stove.

*holiday Itineraries are great for intentional time together and scheduling solo / recoop time for an overstimy brains (lmk if you need my template).

*Snowy winters insulate the noise and make amaros taste even warmer

*I love spending time with these folks. I feel very lucky to have cousins who are like siblings, parents, aunts & uncles that I enjoy and can be my full self around - it took some time; I savor that gift as a queer person.

*grief and joy seasons like cinnamon

*Caroling in your living room is precious and underrated fun

2025 // Giving this year her flowers. 💐

& Kissing each petal for:

1. Proposing to the loml, my partner in creation and cozy quiet moments and whisked us both away for the most delirious romantic weekend to date. Obsessed w you @daniboi_dabi

2. Blinked and turned 30 & threw myself a lil party. Friends came to manifest, drink our homemade amaros and graze with me. It was my favorite birthday celebration to date.

3. Hosted the first @peachpitbk artist session and felt doused in inspiration from our gorgeous community of artists and world builders

4. Had the most relaxing upstate adventure with Dani @shakivla and Britt. I now understand the gay, nomadic pipeline from bk to Woodstock.

5. We painted the kitchen 3 shades of green and got a new couch and new bed. (2 big girl life purchases wow)

6. Spiritually experienced Cowboy Carter in the rain w/ my friends.

7. Gogo danced at brooklyn paramount for @trixiemattel (Wisco divas stand up)

8. Executive produced the Sinners Premiere After Party at Aqua NY (thank u @little.cinema ).

9. Creative directed a show from my dreamiest of dreams, the Peach Pit premiere: Forbidden Fruits Pleasures Untold

10. Designed a few Canada Goose experiences in Utah and Churchill Canada with one of my favorite agencies: ENYCS

11. Produced some gorgeous projects with Hèrmes also with ENYCS

12. Visited Grenada for the first time, met my father’s youthful spirit, then found our roots & cleaned my great grandmothers grave. This journey to a softer home has alchemized my soul. 🇬🇩

In 2026, I’m leaning into more:

1. Radical Rest and low energy hangs (why is it so hard to sit the fuck down. I am granting myself more permission to do so.)

2. Trusting my visions, free of time constraints

3. Reassessing my capacity for output.

4. Asking for help; asking for grace.

5. Strengthening my emotional and physical core

6. Braiding in more play, more tears and more time for me in this backwards society.

7. Getting more cozy with the phrase, “No, not today, but some day!”

What a lil whirl-wind of a year full of community, creating, commitments and discovery: I am so grateful for this queer, delirious lil life. 💐 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @pgoodings
