📸 Photobomb from the past month on the road. Hard to pick just a few photos — there’ve been so many people, places, and moments these last weeks that deserve a spot. I probably should’ve shared earlier, but hey, I was busy living it. From surfing (and bruising) in Gijón, to finally mastering the cider pour 🍏🍻(thank you @gijonsurfhostel ), riding the Camino del Norte through green (and wet) Asturias, Cantabria and Basque country, riding with Bassi, meeting warm souls like Fran and Nerea, visiting old friends in Zaragoza, and soaking up some city life in Barcelona before rolling into cycling paradise: Girona. I’ve got one last week solo — across the Pyrenees — before the bike goes in the truck. Over 3000km in the legs, but it still feels like it’s too soon to stop. Let’s see what these final climbs and last slow days bring. by @ph_bjorn
Part 3 of the trip: Camino Francés: Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago The final stretch. From the Pyrenees to Galicia, with the Meseta in between—Spain laid out its full topographic menu, and I got a taste of all of it. I crossed into Navarra with heavy legs and steep climbs, rolled through Rioja’s vineyards, floated across the flat Meseta (yes, cyclists love it), and climbed my way through Galicia’s relentless green hills. The descents? Equal parts breathtaking and terrifying—technical, steep, and occasionally a lesson in humility (I am not Tom Pidcock). Cities like Pamplona, Burgos, León, and Astorga brought comfort, contrast, and chaos—including that day the power went out in all of Spain and Portugal. Shops closed, streets emptied, and as we wandered through a dark Astorga that night, a lone street musician kept playing as if the Titanic was going down. Still one of the most cinematic moments of the trip. There were shared meals in places like Casa Susi, private rooms when I needed to recharge, and every now and then, a night that turned into song and stories with strangers. And then Santiago. 2535 km. 18,000m of climbing. Arriving in the crowded square after all that was surreal. I’m still processing what this trip meant—it’ll take a while to fully understand any of it. Now it’s time to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and make my way—somehow, by bike or otherwise—to the Mediterranean. #caminofrances #bikepackinglife #saintjeantosantiago #powercutastorga #cyclingspain #descentdrama by @ph_bjorn
Latergram | Tours to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port From abbeys and altar pieces to beaches and BBQs — the second stretch had it all. Slept among monks in Ligugé, admired church art in Melle, and met my first co-pilgrim (shoutout to Patricia!). Crossed rivers by ferry in Blaye and hit my milestone in Bordeaux. Slowed down at Sophie’s with donkey-sidekick Diego, then fired things up again with burgers and beers at Jean’s. Rolled into Biarritz, detoured back for the Foire du Jambon in Bayonne (thanks Jean- what a party), and tackled the Basque hills via the stunning Pas de Roland before arriving at the gateway to the Camino: Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. From vineyards to mountains—legs tired, heart full. #bikepacking #camino #photodump #solotravel #basquecountry #tourstospain #fromagetomountains by @ph_bjorn
Small photo dump from the first part of the trip! I can’t upload any videos at the moment due to a lack of space on my iPhone, so those will have to wait until I can get an external drive for my GoPro. I’m two weeks in and currently enjoying some downtime in Tours. I’ve gone from freezing temperatures to warm, sunny days, and the outlook is positive. Long days alone are still a challenge, but that’s part of the experience. Luckily, I have friends I can count on. As for the trip—what’s better than cycling through the French countryside? I’m considering starting a blog, but until I figure that out, this will have to do! (I also cut down on luggage and I’m starting to feel like a bum already). by @ph_bjorn

Limburg-appreciationpost! I probably didn’t appreciate enough when I lived here. But damn, those endless gravel roads here do make me a happy cyclist. I don’t care what my Brussels friends say about ‘pajottenland’, it has nothing over Noord-Limburg. #limburg #gravel #gravelbike #mudgravel by @ph_bjorn
