I’ve been collaborating with Alycia Bennett on a short residency at Adelaide Contemporary Experimental, we made this over 6 day, an experiment in tufting a synthesiser - using conductive thread traces. #softcircuits #etextiles #diyelectronics #tufting #textileartwork by @phantom_chips

What a wild multi-sensory celebration it was last night @uqartmuseum 50th Birthday party!

We danced with masked abandonment to Tara Pattenden’s @phantom_chips environmental sound installation, watched performances and ate Nikki-Rianna’s beautiful cake piece if Rangda is Evil, maybe so am I….

Congratulations to Peta Rake & the team!

Since its official opening on 2 August 1976, the UQ Art Museum has enriched the University’s campus life, as well as our teaching and learning programs. From its beginnings as a creative lab to its evolution as one of the leading university art museums in Australia, it continues to be a place of community, connection and discovery.

The Museum is also home to the UQ Art Collection, and a selection of artworks will be displayed on the evening.

With plans underway on UQ Art Museum’s new home in UQ’s iconic Forgan Smith Tower, I hope you can join us for an evening of community, conversation, performance and art as we celebrate this milestone together. taken in The University of Queensland by @phantom_chips

NIME 2026 and London was so much fun to visit. It was great to see my old pals and I forgot to get photos with too many folk. So much amazing music at NIME.

NIME 2026 has begun! Pic 1: this year’s Music Chairs @phantom_chips, @nicolerobson & me. We’ve worked hard in the lead up to the conference and are excited to be welcoming the 300 attendees to London. We oversaw the Music submission & review process and programmed the accepted performances into 3 nights of concerts running at Rich Mix, London, this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with performers from all around the world playing new self-designed musical instruments.

This morning I ran a workshop with Lucia Montesinos Garcia and @phantom_chips called It’s Play NIME: Mapping playfulness in NIME, which included some demoes of playful instruments (pic 2: my Soft Cymatics instrument), and lots of vibrant discussion surrounding the meanings of play in the context of new musical instruments.

If you’re at NIME say hi! 👋 ❤️🐭🐭
