I think it’s easy to fall into the trap of believing our life has to look a certain way, especially as we get older and especially as an American. According to society’s standards, I am failing in many aspects of my life.

I don’t have my own place - I live in a hostel with 100 other people.
I don’t have a car.
I don’t have a “real” job.
I’m making far less money than I did at 23 years old.
I’m not “climbing the corporate ladder.”

But I have never felt happier, more confident, or more fulfilled before.

So step outside of your comfort zone. Go against societies made up expectations. Create your own path even if it looks different.

It’s hard. It’s uncomfortable. But on the other side of discomfort you may find a life far more amazing than you could’ve imagined. And you owe it to yourself to find out.

Hi! I’m Pharis, and welcome to my little corner of the internet.

Six months ago I moved across the world with no job, no friends, and no real plans other than to just figure it out.

Moving to Australia made no sense on paper, but it made perfect sense to me. Something in my gut was pulling me there. Something I couldn’t quite explain, but it was an inner knowing.

And somehow, it has all worked out! (so far)

This account is where I’m sharing my Aussie journey along with my many other random passions - mental health, helping people get started in the gym, relationships, dance etc.

I hope you’ll follow along and take someone important away from my story :)

Quick lower body session that burns and gets your heart rate upppp

•Walking lunges until failure right into
•DB RDLs

Repeat 4 x

•Aerobic ball hamstring curls right into
•banded clam shells with bottom leg raise

Repeat 3 x and finish with 5-10 minutes on the rowing machine.

Since moving to Australia, it been a lot harder to make time for the gym, so quick but effective sessions like these have been my go-to lately. But I’ve never felt more motivated to get back in the gym and get back where I was.

Moreton Island has some of the prettiest water I’ve ever seen. If you’re in the area, it’s absolutely worth the visit! We did a guided tour through get your guide which was great, but I do wish we had more time between activities and more time/space to snorkel.

First Aussie birthday!!

When I first planned to move to Australia, I was prepared to feel very lonely throughout the journey. I was moving away from my friends, my family. Everyone I’ve ever known. Aside from a few loose connections, I didn’t really know anyone on this side of the world, so I imagined I would have to do many things alone. And that included celebrating my birthday.

But I haven’t felt lonely once since moving here. I made really good friendships at the hostel within 24 hours of living there, and I’ve met so many amazing people along the way. I feel really grateful for my friends and the community I’ve found here in Australia!

Thank you to everyone who made me feel so loved and special on my birthday this year!! I love you all and am forever lucky to have you in my life 🩵
