🥹🥹🥹 healthcare professionals are humans too.

This moment saddened me- a patient who opened up about what they had been going through. Such a difficult time to a point of having suicidal thoughts 💔

But after our conversation, the patient left feeling a bit more positive. That’s what we are there for. To listen and do the best we can to support you.

Please speak to someone if you are going through something. You are not alone.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but don’t be afraid to take on new challenges.

You don’t even know how great you’ll be, how you can be the one a company is looking for. How you could be the problem solver in your business.

I remember thinking “How will I manage going to over 20 different pharmacies? “
Helping patients from different backgrounds, language barriers...
Leading different teams on a week-to-week basis,
meeting deadlines and tasks that some of them I wasn’t even told about in advance.
But I still kept pushing.
I knew it wasn’t just about me. It was about serving those with a need. Working with a team to help save lives.

You might just be the answer to someone else’s problem.

Stepping into the unknown can be scary, but it’s often where growth happens.

Your unique skills, perspective, and passion could be exactly what someone needs.

Take that leap, apply for that job, start that project, or speak up with your idea. The world needs people brave enough to try.

🚨Simple signs of a heart attack can be missed.

When you see:
1. Chest pain
2.Pain spreading to arms, neck or jaw
3.Struggling to breathe

It’s not a time to wait and see how you feel- go to A&E.

If however, you are not in excruciating pain or you have atleast one of the symptoms, go to your doctor or local pharmacy so they can give you appropriate advice or referral.

MEDICATION TO BE AWARE OF IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO GET PREGNANT OR ARE PREGNANT ‼️

1️⃣ Ibruprofen (pain killer)

2️⃣ Isotretinoin (Acne medication)

3️⃣ Sodium valproate (used to treat epilepsy)

This is a precaution.

On certain circumstances, the prescriber might advise you to take these medicines only if they think you are suitable and if there’s no other better alternatives after careful consideration.

Always check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking medicines especially when pregnant🚨🚨

A lot of women are struggling with fibroids but there are treatments. You are not alone in this!

After careful consideration, a patient is usually taken through different alternatives of treatments to help choose the best one for them.

1.Surgery- is done in severe cases (the womb can be removed or blood supply feeding fibroids can be cut off)

2.Medicines to directly reduce fibroid production or help manage symptoms such as heavy bleeding and pain

It’s not just medicine but lifestyle advice changes lives.

A patient stated they had been going for a smoking cessation therapy. In less than 6 weeks, their blood pressure dropped drastically and their blood sugar levels came to normal range.

Stepping out into the world of work after university can be scary!

But honestly, you will be fine.

Yes challenges, might come.
You might feel unqualified because people think you are too young to be a pharmacist or simply because it’s all new and you are tying to navigate the world of work.
But through experience, through building relationships with patients and colleagues- they will trust you.

Remember that it’s not about always being right, it’s about learning how to communicate with those around you.

Learn to work with your team- empower them and encourage them. Create a culture of openness.

Lead by example. This is huge because you can’t expect your colleagues to change when you are acting the opposite way. They change when they see you making the change.

Listen to patients and ask right questions. This will build your confidence because a lot of times you know the solution- you just need to gather the information and then solve the problem.

Learn and keep learning- don’t be afraid to use resources to refresh your knowledge and add to your knowledge. The goal is to give appropriate, safe and effective medical advice to patients.

From being a girl all the way from Zimbabwe who didn’t know what she would do in life to holding a Masters Degree in Pharmacy and becoming a pharmacist!

Coming to study in the Uk, was one of the hardest things I went through.
I didn’t understand the language, system and culture. To be honest, I wanted to go back to Zimbabwe.
I had some teachers tell me I wasn’t able to do Sciences in university because I didn’t get the grades.

I didn’t hold back. I kept looking for different ways and options to do sciences.
Until I found a course “forensic science” which was changed to “Applied sciences” - consisting on Biology and Chemistry. This was the first time the college had changed the course !

From that moment, I knew God had placed me in the right place at the right time. I passed college with distinctions and my journey was pretty smooth🙏🏽

I have a passion for young people that don’t believe they can succeed in life because of their background- my life is proof you can do it.

You gotta keep knocking those doors. Keep believing.
