EXCLUSIVE RECORD STORE DAY MERCH ALERT! All those joining us this Saturday to celebrate RSD 2026 have first access to our new merch!

Inspiration behind the design: RGV’s own legendary Impacto Records.

The Rio Grande Valley was home to a number of influential record labels throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Founded by Carlos Guzmán in the late ’60s, Impacto Records stands out as one of the most significant. It served as an early home for artists like Carlos y José—now widely regarded as pillars of the Norteño sound—while also giving musicians the space to explore emerging styles of the era, including psychedelic rock, pop, funk, and soul.

Of course, what instantly grabs you is the label’s iconic design. Drawing inspiration from the bold, expressive spirit of ’60s flower power, it’s widely regarded by collectors around the world as one of the greatest record label logos of all time. That visual identity is as powerful as the music it represents.

We chose to pay homage to Impacto with this design for our new merch because, as interest in regional music continues to grow, it’s important to recognize and celebrate those who paved the way.

A big thank you to @palosantoprints for helping bring the vision to life! taken in Pharr Out Records by @pharroutrecords
