For their next release, Phase Group invites you deep into the mind of a singular artist to offer a glimpse of their prolific body of work, zooming in on music composed specifically between 2018 and 2021. Across 16 tracks, ‘Summa 2018-2021’ by Serbian producer Andria reveals a highly unique approach to sound design and composition, spanning the realms of futuristic IDM, ritual ambient, fourth-world techno and other elusive electronic genres. Listening to this album in its entirety feels like entering a self-contained sonic world, where animistic and ancestral traditions are refracted through unfamiliar forms of technology. It’s an album which moves effortlessly from moments of deep and contemplative abstraction, to propulsive tracks that will guide clubs through ceremonial trance states. The release is a gripping and immersive listening experience filled with spellbinding and expertly conjured sounds alongside highly effective moments of dance music that will surely find their way into the sets of the most expressive and fearless DJs. This is one for fans of Coil, Shackleton, Andy Stott and Demdike Stare. Behind the work is Andrija Čugurović the Belgrade-based artist. A graphic designer by day (and in-house designer here at Phase Group), he dedicates his nights and time away from work and production to Belgrade’s underground electronic scene, digging deep into the worlds of Bass, Techno, Industrial, Ambient, IDM, Experimental and Computer Music. A regular attendee at spots like drugstore and the 20/44 boat since a young age, Andrija has honed a deep connection with the music he creates and DJs and that is evidenced in this highly original collection of music. This is his second release on Phase Group, coming after his debut EP ‘o o o o o’ in 2020, the second release on the label. ‘Summa 2018-2021’ is available from the 2nd October digitally and on high-fidelity C-90 cassette, dubbed at Tapeline UK and distributed by Rubadub. IVXVIII by Hyppia is out now. A spellbinding and immersive live recording made in one take at @lachunkystudio in 2022. At over 32 minutes Long, IVXVII is an epic journey that requires deep listening yet we’re sure it will find it’s way on to some of the most explorative dance floors out there. Hyppia is formed of Glasgow-based duo Daniel Magee and Matt Robin wielding an amalgam of analog drum machines, synthesisers, guitar and effects. The recording was Engineered by @gaspardcasanova and mastered by @senufoeditions The b-side brings forth two killer remixes by Phase Group family members MR TC and Andria, that morph the sound of original, stripping it back to it’s drum-led grooves and transporting it into another dimension respectively. PHASE010 • Hyppia - IVXVII • Out on 04/09/2026 🔊 Sound On A 32 minute and 7 second-long absorbing and hypnotic journey that moves through modulated droning ambience to rhythmic immersion as drum sequences are layered and dubbed over responsive and enhancing guitar lines. Complimenting the release on the B-side are two remixes by the other members of the immediate Phase Group family. Firstly, co-label head @tobinu under his MR TC alias provides a succinct 10-minute dance floor refinement of the original sound palate, honing in on the rhythmic elements of the track and distilling them into a solid downtempo groove-focused journey, enhanced with trance-tinged synth leads and absorbing sub bass. Rounding out the tape is an incredible reinterpretation of the original by the Serbian Phase Group-released artist, and the label’s in-house graphic designer, @undriia . Departing from the lulling psychedelia of the original into his signature territory of cutting-edge and futuristic IDM, where rhythmic syncopation and snarling, interjecting synths propel the ghosts of the original track to create a mind-bending piece primed for club destruction. Phase Group are proud to present our next release on the label, a tape that comes in the form of something slightly different - a more than 30-minute-long mind-bending and immersive live recording, and the debut release, by Glasgow-based electronic duo Hyppia - formed of 12th Isle and Optimo Music-aligned producer and co-boss here at Phase Group, Daniel Magee, and sound artist and experimental composer Matt Robin. ‘IVXVII’ was recorded in one go at La Chunky studios in Glasgow in 2022 and engineered by Gaspard Casanova, with Magee playing guitar whilst Robin manned an array of drum machines and analog synthesizers, sequenced and processed through a series of delays, reverbs and resonant filter effects. The result: An immersive droning composition that builds to a percussive climax in a groove and sonic territory that is sure to appeal to fans of the likes of Muslimgauze, Plastikman and Pan Sonic. With its extensive length and emergent evolution, this recording is one built for close-listening environments and late-night sessions sinking in to dream land - as much as it is for the most out-there and explorative dancefloors. Complimenting the release on the B-side are two remixes by the other members of the immediate Phase Group family: co-label head Thomas Lea Clarke under his MR TC alias, and Serbian Phase Group-released artist, and the label’s in-house graphic designer, Andria. ‘IVXVII’ by Hyppia is released on the 14th of September on C60 Cassette. Organic, driven, grounded yet floating. Kulku was founded by Johanna Riska and Andreas Riska alias Wenzlovar. The roots of their music grew out of influences from early minimal music (Moondog, Steve Reich), ritual music and art rock legends of the 60s. In the tradition of German Krautrock bands such as Can and Faust, the band is characterized by a sound whose raw material is made up of Orff instruments. With this special collection of instruments: metallophone, drums, orchestral timpani, xylophone, clarinet, saxophone, cello and an assortment of self-made instruments a universe of metaphysical stories is created. Stories about enlightened dogs or lost visionaries in the urban jungle full of light and shadows. An acoustic perpetuum-mobile that is fed by concentrated absorption. Exploring the sound spectrum of wood, metal and the human voice.
