POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When I first started slacklining, “Frontrange Freestylers” was easily the coolest freestyle video on YouTube. At the time, I never would have dreamed that one day I’d live in Colorado and get to be a part of Frontrange Freestylers 4.0. Five years ago, I don’t think anyone could have anticipated what freestyle has become.

Thank you @justinragers for your years of dedication to freestyle, videography, and leadership of the @tricklinecollective.

I AM NOT COMPETING. This is not a submission. I’m a judge and organizer of the GGBY World Cup and it would be a blatant conflict of interest if I were to participate. I think as a sport we need to move away from organizers competing wherever possible.

That being said, I felt extremely inspired by the work so many freestylers put into their 20 second combos and best tricks: here in Colorado, across the country, and across the world. So here’s the combo I came up with to feel a bit less left out. 🤓

Again, this is not a submission for the online qualifier! I look forward to running the GGBY World Cup and working on the judging team with @isidro.rocua and @taylor_stg. I hope to see many of you out there this thanksgiving.

Results for the Qualifier will be available on July 22nd. by @phat_gnat

My submission for #OnTheMapFreestyle

Due to reasons outside of my control, I spent the month in Maine, away from the stoke and support I have become accustomed to. Instead of working this combo in the screaming, barking, beta-spraying epicenter of the Gulch, I solo rigged and worked this thing almost entirely alone, quietly, above a quarry.

I'm so grateful for @mountmini_slacks for coming up, spending two days with me and revitalizing my energy for the comp! It's been a difficult month, but I'm proud of what I was able to cobble together in spite of the circumstances.

Sorry for the sideways video… there’s just no way to fit this line in a vertical frame.

I had a great weekend packing, hauling, yeeting, tensioning, holding, (and even walking) with the FoCo and NoBo boys.

This line was the biggest and most beautiful I had ever rigged. It was a dream to cross that gap. Thank you @dylononnylon for putting it all together, and @garrisonunis_ for providing most of the gear.

Congratulations to @bencondon._! (shown in the video)This line was the biggest he’d ever seen and he got the onsight with beautiful style. by @phat_gnat

The GGBY World Cup 2026 is cancelled.

The ISA is replacing the existing World Cup system with a new “World Series.” In order to participate, they require that all competition organizers sign identical, three-year contracts that contain many new requirements and restrictions on the competition side while not expanding the scope of the ISA’s responsibilities.

For the past six months, I have been trying to strike a balance that would allow the GGBY World Cup to fit into the new system without losing the character of the competition in the process. The negotiations have been unsuccessful, and the unfortunate result is that the GGBY World Cup will not happen this year.

Organizing last year’s World Cup was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I am deeply grateful for the incalculable amount of work that so many people put into running the first Freestyle World Cup in North America, in such a beautiful and unlikely place. Thank you to the competition team, to the athletes, to the GGBY leadership and volunteers, and to everyone else who pitched in.

I apologize for announcing the return of the GGBY World Cup in 2026, then pulling the plug. Repeating the competition in a way that meets my own standards, while complying with the new ISA requirements is beyond my capacity. I truly wish things had turned out differently, but there is only so much in my control.

It’s been a wild ride,
-Nat Lawson
