POSTS STORIES REELS

Before our events, I would usually brainstorm media and content ideas, and then discuss them with my boss. He is passionate about table tennis and always eager to hear my innovative ideas. So we spoke about the Australian Open and I must have mentioned loving the on-court interviews. stay with me, lol.

Last year, while we were in Nairobi, he called me just a few minutes before the final matches and asked me to prepare for the on-court post-match interview. In my mind, I panicked, like what have I done this time, but I went ahead and did it—albeit shakily, as my emotions were running high and shii.

This year, I didn’t need anyone to remind me to prepare thoroughly and look the part. How did I do? Well, you be the judge.

I used to think that being a sports media and content girl for this sport was enough, but I’ve realised I was playing it small. There’s so much more to discover in life and within myself.

The story's moral is that there's so much more inside you yet undiscovered and by playing that magic of yours for a pittance, you're doing yourself a disservice.

It's happening, it's really happening 🥺!

“Make sure you didn’t leave anything on board” 🤭

Reminds me of London’s “mind the gap between the train and the platform,” but in Senegal, keeping your belongings safe is the vibe when riding the train.

With 22 trains running 196 trips per day from downtown Dakar to Games village in Diamniadio and straight to Blaise Diagne International Airport, they’ve been a huge plus for getting around during the Games, guaranteeing nearly 50km of seamless transit.

It’s sweltering in Dakar and the air feels completely still.
Glad for these cooling areas within the games village and venues. by @phatill

Ran into Brad and Daniel at the Youth Olympic Games Village, trading pins.

Between them, they have over a thousand pins each, collected from countries and sports across generations. Such a wholesome passion. by @phatill

An Olympic dream, with love from table tennis ❤️

Turns out if you fangirl hard enough for long enough, the sport starts to love you back. by @phatill

Coach @idnoble99 Ayodele is as invested as his player @sultan55620 😊

Tough match at the just-concluded ITTF Africa Championships in Tangier, where the youngster eventually lost 4-3 and bowed out in the round of 16 in the men's singles. by @phatill

Missed seeing this stadium during the last AFCON, but it turns out the football stadium is just one piece of an incredible sports complex.
Alongside it sits a massive swimming pool complex and an Olympic indoor arena, all within the same hub.
Simply magnificent. by @phatill

For aspiring sports content creators, there comes a point when content creation alone is no longer enough. Growth becomes so essential to your survival that you can’t help but be pulled toward it, stretching yourself beyond what first brought you into the industry.

You start out wanting to create content. Then, somewhere along the journey, you realize the real work is building stories, communities, experiences, and impact. The camera, the graphics, the captions, and the videos become tools for something much bigger than yourself.

The moment you embrace that evolution, opportunities begin to find you. And before you know it, you're no longer just creating content, you're helping shape the narrative of a sport, an event, or even an entire community. by @phatill

Detty december. 🤭

We see each other maybe 2 weeks per year so it was great to catch up with my table tennis bestie.

A fun fact is that we both started out as volunteers for the sport. Now she's a blue badge umpire, and well I do what I do in media for the sport. by @phatill
